This was a terrible and embarrassing response that didn't address the claims.

I doubt he's going to go ahead with it. Disclosure would be damning. The threat is very Trumpian and it's like he can't put the 🪏 down. He's going to keep digging till he disappears in a hole of his own making.

This doesn't do anything to explain or refute the claim that the contract stated that you couldn't disclose that you were receiving money from them. The fact that this funding came out only after the article corroborates that people couldn't talk about it.

Bro stop sharing a link to someone who whines about the left circular firing squad (a lie) who doesn't even DENY he did exactly what was alleged in the article. It's not a left firing squad if he's guilty of acting like a conservative influencer by taking dark money.

You're right, it's not a circular firing squad because pro-maga fake leftists are not on our team. Hopefully people like dpak and btc wake up to the truth: that the "far left" -- like lorenz, hasan piker, etc -- are not allies. These people want to destroy liberalism and the democratic party.

what's wild? I'm 100% correct. That gas leak you smell might be in your own house brother, if you think chorus is "evil dark zio money" or whatever the talking points are now. Fuck the "far left", you guys don't want liberals to have the money or power necessary to defeat the GOP.

Centrist Dems are literally saying the left doesn't have a place in the DNC. Imagine if you hated Trump as much as you do members of the Democratic caucus. Also fuck Israel.

A picture taken on July 28, 2019 shows a giant election poster on the Likud party headquarters showing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Russian President Vladimir Putin shaking hands alongside another poster showing the Israeli premier shaking US President Donald Trump’s hand. The slogan on both posters reads, ‘Netanyahu: In a league of his own.’ (Likud)

Many nonprofits don't publicly disclose their funding sources. Nothing unusual there at all. Everything liberals do seems to be met with a litany of criticism--even things w a good chance of stopping fascism.

More likely, the account that continually posted the video is a troll. Not a non-American looking to “join us to stop fascism.” Again, you’ve put words in my mouth, because I too am happy to receive help - from anyone. I’m not okay with trolls purposely looking to divide us or spread misinformation.

If your response is in reply to my flippant comment from 2 days ago, I have to push back. You’ve put a lot of words in my mouth. I do not criticize “everything” liberals do. This account kept posting the same video with no explanation - and not in an attempt to “stop[] fascism.” Further, this

To the extent you inserted “seems to be met” into the sentence then yes, I suppose it could “seem” that “everything” is met with a litany of criticism. That’s not how it “seems” to me, though. I believe we should criticize when - only when - it’s necessary. Disinformation is something to criticize.

True. Have those ppl in that group been spreading disinformation? I criticize Dems a lot too--for poor messaging, for not getting liberals to buy/create more media so liberals are not drowned out by the majority of media ownership which is Right Wing etc.

Unclear who the “they” is you’re referencing at this point. I assume you mean the content creators exposed in the original article (not the non-American). Personally, I’ve questioned - literally - the credibility of some of the creators for months now. The Wired article was simply confirmation.

We each evaluate credibility of influencers on our own. This is a daunting task. Even Blue Sky has plenty of liberal imitating MAGA trolls, paid to help MAGA by discouraging ppl from voting Dem--supposedly bc Dems don't 100% agree with the particular issue of the group they pretend 2B a part of.

I like David Packman's work. He's an effective advocate for Democrats and their views. I also like BTC's work as well. One can be both troubled by revelations in the Wired article and consider the subjects of it highly competent and good advocates for your views. It's not one or the other.

David Pakman spins but does not refute the claims in that Wired story. I've watched David and BTC for years. I think they're good on-air talent and I often agree with sentiments they espouse. But I know good journalism when I read it, and that article is the real deal. It impacts my trust.

I would like to point out, there has been a retraction (or update) to the article regarding whether Chorus members can publically reveal their status as members of the group. Below is a statement by Wired on that issue. At least one claim in the article is now suspect. That's important.
