when I moved to NY I remember this guy in a beamer yelling at me to pull over and he stopped me from doing this. I backed up illegally, took a random turn, got lost for two hours, found the place, dropped the truck off, then got on the first bus I saw which deposited me 2 blocks from my new place

truly had the most stupendous luck that day, looking back I had zero idea how anything worked; you make it in NY by dumb luck and listening to the ppl who yell at you

When I took my first CDL test, we drove under an overpass and then the examiner said, "What was the clearance under that bridge?" 35 years later I still remember that it was 14'2". But really, I think that's the best possible way to create a long term memory about a bridge clearance.
