It also strikes me how the Nordecke is considered a partner of the team but then the team took the hostile approach to a thing Crew fans have always done for players. Then the team enforced a made up policy by punishing those customers recently and only backed down when NYT called for clarification.
If you’re a sports team that is going to make things up as you go and oversell league policy in the process, I suggest maybe trying another fanbase besides Columbus Crew fans.
Also, why was a fan punished for wearing a national team jersey of our player?
Not like Colombia kits featuring Cucho’s name weren’t all over the stadium for years. Not like half the youngsters in the regular seats aren’t wearing Argentina or Miami Messi kits every week. Not like Club America kits aren’t common because it’s the only yellow some fans own taking in a match.
Who’s politicizing what? Hint: it’s the JD Vance fundraisers
Or the section of Harrison Afful fans.
Yes. Stood next to Mr Foust many a match in the old corner with his dope Ghana black stars kit worn proudly. And even in the new stadium.
Given the number of club and country jerseys that are worn inside the stadium every single game without incident, this is especially galling.
#Crew96 fans to Don Garber and/or Jimmy Haslam:
They've expected Nordecke to create atmosphere, sell their matches for them, and even recently expected them to get people in the door for their lousily-advertised watch party tomorrow night. Seems like a fair trade-off.
I'm just shocked that the Haslams would do such a thing.
