I get that. Most of the scant reporting has been by non-Alaskan news reports and then sometimes it’s been picked up here locally. I think it’s interesting that according to NANA there’s only 15K shareholders. I wonder if they’ve ever talked about this their local public radio stations?
If it ever did get coverage in our local media it would probably give NANA a black eye. That might (at least) make some shareholders queasy.
But then you have to consider who the local media shareholders are and whether or not they have ties with the native corporations
The AKIMA contract was awarded because of their “minority” status and is worth millions. Kinda ironic, isn’t it?
