My EV only takes about 10 seconds to charge. 5 seconds to plug in at the grocery store, a restaurant, the mall, or at home. 5 seconds to unplug. ☺️ It’s not a gas pump. I don’t stand there and watch it. It’s like a laptop. I plug it in and do other stuff. It’s a different state of mind.
And yes, this is a big mental shift going from a petrol car to an EV. And yes, change is hard. But I think the planet is worth us having to adjust just a bit. driving.ca/auto-news/in...

It really is. And the the FUD is amazing. I’ve heard all the same BS disinformation about EVs so many times from accounts with no followers and an axe to grind. Of course he didn’t read the link. I assume just searching posts that mention EVs and charging. The only thing this gets them is blocked.
Don't do shit for people an hour from downtown lol. We woke up and drove an hour and half away further from a downtown. Will drive back an hour and a half later and still not need to recharge. You can tell all of these haters have not even sat in an EV.
Yah, I mean the other day I drove 3 hours on the highway in my Hyundai Ioniq 5 and still had like 40% charge left. My range was clocking in at over 330 miles. 🤷♂️… dropped an extension cord from the window of the place I was staying in and charged. Electricity is everywhere gas is.
@bustedride.bsky.social some of these accounts, I assume they are paid oil industry trolls. Almost no followers, very little to no bio info, very few posts but a lot of replies to EV content specifically.
Unless of course you are on a long distance trip or unsure if you can charge at your destination. But even then, 10-15 minutes at a fast charger are a small price to pay for all the EV benefits. Switched in 2021 and not going back. :)
Still the same 10 seconds for me. Last time I fast charged my EV on a roadtrip was at a EVgo outside a Walmart and Starbucks. Went in to go to the bathroom and get a coffee. It was done charging by the time I got out.

Same for me 95% of the time. It’s so amazing to be able to plug an EV in at home if you can.
And of if I couldn’t, there are high-speed chargers in the parking garage at my favorite Trader Joes.
EV since Feb 2024, always charge overnight at cheap rate. Last week, first time ever, bit distracted on getting home and I forgot to plug in. Slight faff to get charged on the go only because I so rarely do it, but 10 mins on a fast charger gave me all I needed for the day.
Ironically the vegan takeaway we love was backed up yesterday and I spent 45 minutes waiting for it… a lot longer than it would take my car to charge. 🤣… but we have these things called phones so I could just read and listen to music without making a fuss about it.
And you can do this wherever there is an electrical outlet instead of certain designated, and gross, places only available with the dino juice.
We were driving by a gas station yesterday & my wife commented how she doesn't even see them anymore. We noted how high the price of a gallon of gas is... that's a lot of money to turn 80% of it into wasted heat! Imagine how high the price would be if the US government stopped subsidizing it?
Imagine how great America would be if we just gave everyone healthcare instead!
