Called and emailed mine. Also contacted the house reps to tell them their job is not done. Now they need to examine the bill in detail and put the info out to their constituents. No reason the House can't help the Senate.

Lindsay Graham and Tim Scott? I email and call them all the time. They. Don’t. Care. All they care about is their own power and staying in office. The House could pass a bill nullifying the constitution, and my Senators would vote for it if it meant they could keep their seats.

That's effectively what they just did by nullifying the courts ability to enforce contempt. That means their rulings are basically meaningless and everything they're doing to stand up to the executive branch falls flat, and with the legislative branch not standing up at all...

we're left with just the dictator... constitution be damned.

It’s horrific, I know. My only hope is that the courts will rule that provision unconstitutional, as they should. But that would take years, if it ever makes it that far. In the meantime, the courts could be cowed and do nothing.

The problem, as you said, it can take years, but not only that, even IF they take it up and rule it unconstitutional, the fact that the bill kneecaps enforcement of contempt, if people disregard such a court ruling, it circles back to not being able to enforce the contempt.

There is no point in calling anyone. The GOP Senate is passing this by a simple majority vote. No Senator is going to stand up to Trump. They literally fear for their lives.
