Challenge - draw a Venn diagram representing people who screeched ‘WILL OF THE PEOPLE!’ at the mere suggestion that maybe we didn’t have all the info and should rethink Brexit and people who are calling for another general election 1 year into a new government they don’t like….

Eh. I think there's a lot of rational people who want to get rid of Labour.

Yes but we can’t because the country voted them in for 4/5 years. That’s my point - I don’t think anyone thinks they’re doing a bang up job right now.

Fair enough - I misread what you were saying.

Exactly. There's plenty I don't like about labour, but we tried changing leader every 2 yrs under the tories. Stability is key. Can't expect miracles within 3 years let alone 1, so we must give them a chance. We need a more grown-up approach to our understanding of governance. No magic wands exist.

When you voted for Labour, were you expecting racism, bathroom bills, a new Section 28, a ban on gender affirming care for trans kids, an increase in utility bills and calls to leave the ECHR? Because I don't know about you, but I was expecting John Major, not Trump.

I voted Lib Dem. No, I wasn't expecting labour to be as bad as the tories. Nor that they would decide that they should imitate reform. However I do believe they have good intentions, unlike the tories. They've made a lot of mistakes, but they should have their full term to try and get it right.

No one is talking about magic wands or expecting miracles. l really would have settled for Labour not making things worse.

I get that. I just think it’s hilarious how democracy in the instance of a referendum is considered immutable but a general election is considered negotiable.

It’s a hysterical sort of laughter, tbf. Like the one Donnie Darko does right at the end before he gets hit by that jet.
