My absolute favorite Chris Cornell-story is that in the movie "Singles" there's a demo-tape or something by the fictional band, Citizen Dick (Pearl Jam) with fake song-names. And he wrote actual Soundgarden/Audioslave/Solo songs for those made-up names.

I can't find the fictional tracklist or the article I read about it, but he had a bunch of hits just writing fictional music for this fictional track list. "Spoonman" was one, I do remember.
Dude was just fucking around, but was so talented that his fucking around ended up popping out some absolute bangers.
