Tsunetomo reported on conflict. Musashi lived conflict. Shinmyōroku experienced conflict. These three experiences shaped their views differently. And you have to read each, in the gestalt, to really appreciate/understand their message. Which isn't being a silent-badass-killer is cool, actually.
