Protecting free speech is a political thing, not a literal physical thing. They have a right to say whatever they want. They do not have a right to protection via body guard. The words are protected, not the mouths that are shouting them.

Of course it’s sanctioned. They’re always sanctioned, in every city. The last time the KKK marched here, in Austin, TX, counter demonstrators were kept multiple blocks away, and we were extremely unhappy about it.

And yet you don't understand that allowing a hate group to march the streets w/ a permit is a hate crime & therefore illegal. That having the cops following a hate group to help "monitor" the people they should arrest for existing is also a full on crime. That allowing slurs in public is a crime 🤣

We cannot arrest people for existing. Hate speech is often protected speech. It’s not 100% one way or the other. And yeah, I think we’re way too lenient on hate speech too, but expecting cops to arrest nonviolent protesters is basically giving them an excuse to do it to anyone.
