There’s such blatant hypocrisy from GOP stalwarts. But also upsetting is how the media reports it. How are the American people supposed to understand that even the cruelest Medicaid and food stamp policies will not pay for these bloated tax policies. The media doesn’t tell them.

Or this: Oh how cute - who doesn’t love a 10 pm Sunday session in the House ? Also calling this Budget quartet “hardliners” concerned about “deep enough spending cuts.” But THEIR cuts- barely a blip Because this is a massive tax cut. Report that! www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

GOP all about cutting services for everyone else to pay for their tax cuts.. That 760 billion Bush borrowed was to pay for the tax cuts and Iraq.. ( And yes it is being paid back - started in 2020 and will be repaid in full by 2032. ) Yet they are doing zero to keep SS from being cut by 23% by 2034

You need to understand that in that bill they are giving Trump authority to move funding around that was assigned for other purposes.. which Congress never has done before.. So who knows what he will actually do once they pass it- just know it won’t be good for the people

Let’s not forget Trump illegally took funding to pay for his wall- and later was forced to pay it back.. The way they are doing it this time it give him actual coverage to do so because pre approved by Congress- and we don’t have the #’s to defeat.. Only hope is the Senate ..

And they breathlessly make the 4 holdouts seem like they’re true budget hawks and fighting!! When all they did was fold. They held up the bill for a day and a half only to vote “present” on a Sunday night. they’re anything but hawks. They’re not even doves. They’re carrion

They voted ‘ present’ not yet to get it out of the budget committee. This is the real problem- can make adjustments after passing that were not approved www.commoncause.org/articles/hou...

They can switch one text for an entirely different text as I understand it through an Amendment in the Nature of a Substitute (AINS)

That is the truth and that is what we are really up against- was blatant of their part before the 2024 election… Yet how do we combat that to make sure other Democrats are aware of the issues that are not on social media??

Well I know you disagree with me but I think D’s could do a better job at the contrast. Like tax billionaires more. Said a billion times! And pile on the media when they write about the budget but they focus more on the personalities and cage fight. Every article should have the $’s at the top

It won’t matter to many- many more concerned about losing their jobs if we tax billionaires than they are about those services they don’t need right now being cut
