For #RandomGameSaturday I grabbed Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro! I always felt this one was the better of the two PS1 Spideys. Vicarious Visions did a great job refining the gameplay from Neversoft’s original, like allowing Spidey to come down from the rooftops and wander the streets!
Never played the first one but remember renting this from Choices!
I played this one before the first one, so maybe I'm a little biased in that way... Also Choices!! I remember buying a ton of DVDs from them for cheap... 😄
I might see if I can find an emulator to give them both a play through. Sadly no longer have my PS1.
I played the first one a ton as a young kid, but sadly never got to play the sequel until I started obtaining retro games online in high school. The story of this game’s pre 9/11 release is one of the most fascinating.
It was a great title with more finesse and gameplay, I did prefer the villains from 1 but damn, great game(s)
I always thought being able to use Web Impact midair in this one would have been VERY useful in the Mysterio fight in the first one!
I do have to play the PS1 games sometime. I played the xbox ones around the time the movies came out because my cousin at the time loved the movie so we always got the game to go along with it.
I like the PS1 Spideys cos they feel cinematic, at a time where the movies weren't even "coming soon"... :)
