Kids get Long Covid. Kids die at 4× the rate of flu from acute infection (that 7–10 days you felt sick, didn’t test, went back to work, and spread it). LC has no cure. 1 in 3 risk lasting damage. LC can & will destroy lives. Probably yours & your kids’ if you don’t utilize airborne protections.
Children do get Long Covid. It can mean brain fog (the feeling which is actually brain damage), memory loss, heart inflammation, dizziness, exercise intolerance. This isn’t “just a cold.” It’s a lifelong disability risk.
We’ve normalized mass infection. But LC hits 1 in 3. Imagine every classroom, every team, every friend group — a third will struggle with symptoms doctors can’t fix. That third of the population is growing, because every infection compounds risk. Note: Kids can’t all articulate what they feel.
Covid’s acute phase kills, but it’s the aftermath that destroys futures. LC is organ damage, vascular damage, cognitive decline. That doesn’t heal in 7–10 days.
Flu rarely leaves kids disabled. Covid can wreck their nervous system, gut, and immune function for years. Stop pretending it’s the same.
There is no cure. No proven long-term treatment. No “just bounce back.” Families are left scrambling while society shrugs. It’s extremely rare to fully recover from Long Covid.
This is preventable. Masks work. Filters work. Vaccines help. Pretending kids are “resilient” is a lie that costs lives. Don’t measure risk from your family’s survivor bias. You haven’t experienced it… YET. I haven’t seen Europe yet either. But I know where it is & I’ve read about it.
Most adults only get flu once a decade. With Covid, people are getting reinfected yearly — sometimes 2–3× a year. Do you see how easy it is to destroy your life? Your kids’ brains? Their future? Your own capacity to take care of them?
Do you really need to show off your smile to sacrifice your life as you know it? Not me. I prefer to keep my brain cells, mitochondria, blood vesicles, testicles, & T cells intact. If you don’t know WTF I am talking about, maybe read some science and pay attention.
I like the way my brain works. I like the unconscious problem solving, the categorization, connecting and sorting random facts. My business depends on my ability to think on my feet. I mask daily to keep those skills intact.

I was just thinking/wondering (in a kind of rage) whether the people in Congress & Senate under age 65 are going to have complete, unfettered access to the new Covid vaccination this, unlike the rest of us.
Of course they are :( Remember when Biden declared the pandemic over yet people were still required to mask around him and rest before coming to the White House or meeting with him? It's so awful how they've created different levels of who deserve medical care. But I realise this isn't new...
The smallpox vaccine was developed in 1796. Imagine setting our public health science back to 1795. An unvaccinated person has a 15x chance of dying from Covid than a vaccinated one. Would you take a 15:1 bet on a horse with your life on the line? RFK Jr would have you do it.
I’m pro vaxx and have 9 in me. Last Novavax was March. But if you think you’re fully protected with vaccination from SARS2 you’d be dead wrong. No protection from LC. Vaccines mostly keep you from the hospital. Mask. Ventilate. Clean the air.
And here, in the nutshell, are the winning anti-vax arguments, and excuse for making them difficult to access. They already were a hard sell. The arguments are overwhelming. It comes down to a perception that they don’t work, and in a way, the people who believe that are correct. MORE
They don’t prevent Covid. They may not lessen the seriousness of the infection. The jury is out.
They certainly don’t stop an infected person from spreading it. They don’t prevent long Covid, for which at present there are no effective treatments, much less a cure, but that’s a detail not much discussed in the Trump administration.
Most people w/Covid don’t go to the hospital anyway, so what’s the point? Have the majority of Americans, multiply infected, developed an immunity to it? It’s possible. Has the virus itself mutated to become less deadly? That’s also possible.
A survivor pestilence is careful not to kill its host. Those who do sicken, especially those who die—we are now told—already had something wrong with them, are defective, will never get better, are a drain on society and aren’t worth saving.
Survival of the fittest. Kill or let the rest die. Disabled people cost money. Eugenics, whether we admit it or not, is at work. Vax are expensive without insurance and about to get far more expensive.
They make most people sick, so many have to take time off from work. They’re hard to even find, much less get. I’ve had every vax as soon as it became available but color me completely discouraged. I have masked invariably
Since February of year 1 of this nightmare and remain NOVID, but for me, this isn’t that hard. My husband and I are each retired, and are introverts. We like books. We aren’t much interested in going to bars or concerts any more. We don’t have to go to work. Our son is grown and gone.
Curious what you’re doing this fall? Another Novavax?
The data suggest most people should be good for 12 months as maintenance after having 3 doses. I’m going to go for NVX in March if it’s available. I’m going to get my daughter NVX this fall, again, if available.

Extremely covid-conscious kid (bc long covid) just got his second ever bout, in the first week of college, from his roommate. When talking to director of student health services, she said “don’t most people with long COVID get better though? Isn’t he better now?” Sigh.

The calm mongering we are subjected to has my social circle looking at my masking nuclear family as if we have mental health issues. I’m watching them and their children suffer repeated infections and am saddened at what unfortunately is to come…
Such a mass tragedy. And people are often embarrassed to say they’re sick, let alone that their kids are suffering from a preventable condition. Most patients are not seen because they haven’t got the energy to be out there. So, it’s a hidden disability that’s sucking years out of the population.
Do you think you do good for people who actually have long covid by claiming that 1/3 of kids have it?
