It is just wild to me that the largest facility used during Japanese internment will now be used to intern immigrants from ICE raids, people who are disappeared by masked officers off the streets, and there is still a debate about whether naming and shaming those doing it is fair.
And the Japanese that were interred there in WWII are traumatized all over again!
It’s not surprising. The same mindset that interned Americans of Japanese descent in the early 1940s is now interning and expelling Americans who aren’t citizens in 2025. Enough time has passed that most people don’t remember the moral crimes of 80 years ago.
History shows the human memory is only around 80 years. If we taught history correctly, then maybe we could’ve avoided this.
People remember but the WHite people do not.

Fort Bliss, TX where several dozen German, Italian, and Japanese residents of the US were held without charges during WWII. It was not one of the massive "relocation" camps like Manzanar or Tule Lake.
After all this is over we need to burn it all to the ground and turn the land over to the nearest tribal government. We clearly can't be trusted.

Despicable.
Warrantless arrests. Lack of due process. Inhumane conditions. People are dying in detention centers due to lack of medical care (at least 10 of them children). Cruel deportation to dangerous countries where they don't know anyone and don't speak the language. Shameful in every sense of the word.
If they’re masking, what makes you think they’re officers? Maybe they’re like putin’s “little green men” They don’t report to anyone.

It sounds like it was just a military base they have repurposed a number of times.
Naming and shaming ICE agents should be pro forma when they use excessive force - which they do 99% of the time.
