That´s courage. At least not all US states/towns support #TheOrangeClown and his #MAGA friends that #DumpTrump pardoned all. Which not only I found nasty. We all did here in Germany.
That´s courage. At least not all US states/towns support #TheOrangeClown and his #MAGA friends that #DumpTrump pardoned all. Which not only I found nasty. We all did here in Germany.
Yes! Actions have consequences.
Ban them from working anywhere, in general. Make them stains on society.
That feels so right.
1791: "Muskets that take 30 seconds to reload? Sure, let’s write that in." 2025: "High-capacity rifles at Starbucks? Freedom, baby." The Founders didn’t draft the Constitution expecting Call of Duty to be real life.
🇵🇸🍉💔 Electricity and water are almost gone in Gaza. We see light for just a few hours, and water is scarce. Life has become unbearable. We need your support.
My hometown is screwed up in a million ways, but THIS they got right!
Perfect, revoke their driver’s licenses and keep them out of Washington.
Brilliant 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻
A potted cactus is smarter than a MAGA maggot, and less paranoid.
That’s my city💙👏👏👏
J6 rioters are not patriots. Many have rap sheets to prove it. www.axios.com/2025/02/07/j...
Trump's secret meeting with Enrique Tarrio in Mar-a-Lago. www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmN6...
Last time these two were together, we had January 6th. What are they up to now? 🤔
I'm sure it wasn't to swap cake recipes. Maybe Trump is considering Enrique Tarrio for Mike Waltz's old job as National Security Advisor. Little Marco Rubio can't keep doing 12 jobs.
I wouldn't put it past him. He loves putting the most unqualified people in important positions.
I heard he's giving them jobs at homeland security. They will be his jackbooted brownshirts. 🤬😳☠️⚰️🇺🇲
I believe it! I suspect he also shut down the database that had the names of former police officers who had committed crimes so that they could be rehired to work for him.
They were trouble long before Jan 6th
Perfect for carrying out an insurrection. Trump, Flynn & Navarro knew exactly who was receiving their clarion call. Not patriots.
And some got in more trouble right after the pardon.
They will never stop bellyaching. They think they should be celebrated as heroes
oustanding sex crime
My Kind of Town!
Really good decision. Choices should have consequences and the city taking back their power, even little by little is a positive move. Good for the windy city!
It would be great if every state does this!!
It’d be even better if people actually followed the 14th as written- would automatically have excluded local office as well as federal.
Why have the Pardons not been posted? They have a Criminal record! 400 were violent convicted felons! We have a right to see the Pardons! Have not seen it ever before! Secret pardons? But they got released!
No response from the Pardon Attorney! Must be gagged
Definitely signaled attacking abortion providers is ok. Pardoned many! Even violent ones! But not showing the 1400 1/6 Rioters and cop assaulters! www.justice.gov/pardon/cleme...
They need to be requested under the freedom of information act
Do you even thin the FOA exists anymore?
Get 'em!!!
Way to go CHICAGO! Hope this inspires Many more cities And towns Across the country!!
Great idea they should be stopped from going anywhere in America because they don't deserve to be in America they are traitors insurrectionists
Right on Chicago!!!
Excellent idea!
That’s really cool Hit them hard Ban them from employment
Banning Jan 6 rioters from city (and county and state) employment is perfectly reasonable. You don't want lawless persons put into ANY position of authority. They will certainly abuse it.
Brilliant
Excellent
J6 rioters should just be banned from America.
Indeed. We need to see this in cities in all 50 states.
The "Cowboys for Trump" dood at Jan 6 was a New Mexico politician who is now barred from holding public office in NM.
Couy Griffin, of Otero County. That county's full of extremists of all types or a high percentage of that sparse population is 'fringe.' 😺 In the main, I think that's because they can be as weird as they like and nobody bothers them much.
Excellent! Violent terrorists have no place around other citizens!
🤘🔥❤️🔥🤘
What a great idea! Let this trend, please!
@themarimegumi.bsky.social this is excellent
What can I say, Chicago is the best 😌
Yeah it seems pretty sick, like... Y'all have a pope now
OMG yussss that's amazing
Bravo to my city
A proven felon pardoning other proven felons for acts supporting the first felon is what the US has become now.
I would Love to see some Corporations do this as well. Ban these MF’ing traitor from employment.
Sadly, they'll do GoFundMes to then pay for their lifestyles. 🤦🏽♀️
Maybe GoFundMe should get some balls and a spine and ban them from using the site to fundraise.
Exactly!
A pardon doesn't make them innocent. They are still criminals, and an employer would have the right not to hire them.
Great !!! Good news
Good!
We need to start deporting some of those treasonous dogs to El Salvador. Or space.
Sweet home Chicago!
Thank you Chicago. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Absolutely!!! Why didn’t every city do that? At least the blue ones. Let’s jump on that bandwagon.
Looking at you @saccounty.gov. @indivisiblesac.bsky.social @sacbee.com
Should ban them from the city altogether.
Should ban them from the country, too!!
From earth!
Yes! Looks like Elon Musk just found his SpaceX Mars mission crew :)
I’d rather they just put them all on the next test flight.
🤣🤣
Good. Every city in every state should do the same. Treat them like the criminals they actually are.
Someone with ba$ls……
This needs to be a common place thing in all areas of employment!
Thank you!
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
As they should!!
Yes !!!!!
Excellent job Chicago. I hope other cities follow suit.
Every single one of them should be band forever.
You meant jailed, right?
they should be banned from society to form a band in jail.
Yes those two things, 😁
It's wild that that isn't a nationwide given, but then again; no it isn't.
Sweet Home Chicago 💙
Legally, they are not allowed to even work as a dog catcher.
BooFUCKINYah
@papst-ny.bsky.social
Makes sense anyway.
Just came home from Chicago Saturday. I LOVE CHICAGO. so much friendlier than this red state.
Every Dem Mayor in America should make a push to follow this move. Make them all pariahs for life!!!!
Why Dem Mayors only? Any mayor with a conscience should do it.
Well, Republicans don’t have consciences, so…
Perfect!
Yes!
Braving-O‼️👏👏
Doubt it'll survive this "supreme" Court, but good none the less. We should be flooding the zone with completely reasonable no-nonsense things like this, instead of cowering behind shit excuses. Make them fight against and publicly oppose rationality.
Who cares what you think, you irrelevant, withered up old fart?
You do, you inadequate eunuch.
How do you know what gender I am? Don't you people say there are 52 of them? 🤣
I don't care what gender you are.
🤣
👍👏🏻
We must have a national J6 offender database like we do for sex offenders. I don't want either in my neighborhood.
Correct. We should
ABSOLUTELY and banned from ALL forms of public transportation because I have a feeling that a good majority of those people where against mask / vaccine mandates during the pandemic
Man, how dare you suggest this brilliant idea, and disrespect USHA VANCE on her J6 birthday? 🥳.
lol
and they all lived. crazy huh
No tons of them died. The ones that are still here lived. It’s called survivor bias.
Yup
I don't want them in my places of work, or near where I live, as well.
Or on this planet/ country
I don't want them alive. The three S's (shoot, shovel, shut up) applies to them.
Good job Chicago. No domestic terrorists wanted.
Proud to be an Illinoisan
Yay, my home town! ❤️
It's a start 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The Scarlet Letter!
Should be all 50 states. @wyden.senate.gov @jeff-merkley.bsky.social @repbonamici.bsky.social maybe have a word with state legislators? ASAP
@captmarkkelly.bsky.social Pass it on.
For those who did not pay their time for their crimes, agreed! Let us not forget that there were some who were repentant and admitted their guilt. Those individuals are a far cry from the ones that were the most violent and unrepentant.
No, none of them should be allowed to work for government positions when they already tried to overthrow the government they want to work for What’s next, installing a Russian asset in the White House, oh wait…
Nah. You can escape judgement, but you can't work for the government after trying to overthrow it. Not saying you can't work anywhere, but not with my tax $.
Don’t be ridiculous. Attempted overthrow of a government should negate that person from working in said govt forever. Luckily my town acknowledges that. No matter how very very sorry someone is.
Agreed ❤️ Punishment doesn't equal revenge. Once they served their time, they should be considered redeemed. Sometimes people just do one stupid thing.
Now let’s take that sentiment and apply it to everyone who has ever been convicted of a crime and have served their time. This country is in desperate need of criminal justice reform.
GOOD!
Way to go Chicago!!! They should send a message, that thugs are not welcome!!!
Fight back! Vote them out! Only progressives are on record (they’re not paid for by the billionaire-class)
Let’s go Krasnov!
If anyone gets deported, it should be 1/6 Traitors.
A long with their leader and other cult members
POTUS isn’t going to like this! He’ll probably defund the State.
Nice job Chicago, very nice job
All states should do this!
Way to go Chicago
Interesting
Our Governor has had enough of this stupid shit.
Honestly, if you can get fired for being rude, why would an employer want someone this unhinged representing their company? Freaking walking lawsuit.
Shunning is a thing.
Justice!!!
It's a start. Brazil's Trump loving president tried the same thing, he's charged with an attempted overthrow of the government. Most of his followers are in prison. America re-elects their TRAITOR!
Hmmm... I'll have to ask my co-worker in Brazil how that's going. I love talking to my global co-workers, I learn more than I would from the news or reading about it.
www.cnn.com/2024/11/21/a...
Yes I like their thinking!
Now we just need to do this with the rest of the country! And everyone that entered the Capitol needs to never be able to vote again along with the folks who helped make it happen.
Congress members who assisted should be deported!
This should happen all over the country.
I'll take it
Love to see it . . . we're learning how to fight back. Thanks, Chicago and Gov. Pritzker!
Every #Jan6 participant should have that fact on their #CORI report, which should disqualify them from most positions.
👍🏿
That's a good start
That’s awesome!!!!!!!👏🏼 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 It makes me feel so relieved anytime I see someone standing up against this! There’s comfort in knowing you are not alone! 👏🏼🫶🏼 So many act as if it were a normal day.
oooh, let's start organizing in other cities
Those rioters need to be in jail
Chicago rocks
Consequences, people!
Glad to see some one paying attention to that 14th amendment thingy of yours. Thou shalt not be an official if you've been an insurrectionist scumbag. That one.
God Bless Brave Americans for standing up against a dictator! 🤗👍🏻🤗
👍🏻👏🏻
Chicago has always been at the forefront of the working stiff, the UNION, freedom to speak your damn mind aginst The Man; George, Chicago has always been & will always be ready to hit the ball outta the park. ⚾️
Till the courts get involved
ADDED BONUS: Dog murderer Noem came to shit all over Illinois for our Sanctuary Cities. She got a REAL warm reception. 😜
I hope that warm reception includes freshly pooped dog doo 🤣
Tell me more!
Savage reply by the gov! lol www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/k...
We are proud of our Sanctuary City Policies. Puppy killer Noem can kiss my old wrinkled nutsack. All inquiries can be submitted to my press sec as soon as I can afford one.
JB advised all pet owners to make sure their beloved animals were under watchful protection prior to Noem’s visit (🤭🤭) & for photographers to capture her latest costume when she arrives as she likes to cosplay
Yeah, but it was Kristi Noem (now Secy. of DHS (!) who shot her puppy in a gravel pit, not Rep. Nancy Mace, who is almost equally heinous.
Can we agree Mace and Noem are both just a couple of worthless bitches? M'kay then.
Here here.
Almost?
This was a dig at Noem.
Can we agree Mace and Noem are both just a couple of worthless bitches? M'kay then.
Yeah, but who was Noem wearing? 🤣(This was too.)
Our governors are great!!
Holy f*ck. That's the way to do it.
My son & our rescue pup Khai & the fully grown Khai patiently awaiting his room service order
Ope, that’s some awesome Midwestern passive aggressiveness right there. 😂💙
"Who's a good boy? You are!!"
This is something that every employer who believes in protecting Democracy could emulate . . . WELL DONE ‼️👍
I think having a governor that will back you up helps.
I love this! Let's go Windy City!
And, may the Force be with them…
I fricken LOVE Chicago!
Insurance companies should increase rates for cities & other institutions who employ the rioters.
Good
Every single state Should!
Do the right thing ….. and they did.
They should be banned from holding any type of government office, anywhere!
I'm sure you've been a couple times you'd like it here
Homan will give them jobs as ICE officers. 😠
Holy moly guacamole 🥑👍👍👍👍👍 kudos, although it just seems like a no brainer 👍🧌
Outstanding!
Call and email the Reps. and Senators every day. Capitol switchboard (202) 224-3121. Tell them loud: Defend the Constitution. Impeach the corrupt president! (Please repost)
I love seeing this sort of local action and common sense.
Terrific!
They should never hold any government job period.
Agreed. Completly agree with them and you.
The rioters are a group I could get behind deporting.
Well done Chicago !
Watch the court cases claiming "unlawful action"
But now they can be in homeland security. The last people that should ever be there. And I'm guessing it will be a DEI thing where they get special treatment.
I keep seeing this being said. Can anyone provide a real source other than facebook and X? I don’t believe social media. Especially when Cheeto uses it to promote nonsense. TIA.
Ban them from earth
This was a very Chicago thing to do. It's a no bullshit city.
They don't tell you to gfy for show. They are sincere.
😅 I know. I grew up there.
Good for them. They are taking a stand like every city should.
In fairness, it's not a novel idea. The Insurrection Clause of the 14th Amendment is designed to do the exact same thing. Sadly, the SCOTUS refused to enforce it and instead treated it as merely ornamental. We must now try to mitigate the damage. Hopefully the republic survives. 🤞
I miss the times when terrorists were actually tried and sentenced… and not pardoned. And yes I call it a terrorist attack. Because that’s what it was.
Agreed. It was shocking and led later to the truckers blocking in Ottawa. It was bizarre
Oh but they were peaceful siteseers. 🤣
And WTC was just a hoax, yeah yeah I know the conspiracies, move along.
I know whenever I go to a museum I generally bear mace and then beat the security guards as I peruse the exhibits
😱🤪👍
Yes it's true.
Every city should follow suit! Hit them where it hurts, especially those that were cops, lawyers, firefighters, etc!
Well, guess we gotta start with the little things and build up! Way to Go, Chicago!!
Good
Excellent. They should all be pariahs among patriotic Americans
Something illegal, isn't it? Is this legal? I mean it's law now 😄 of course. But is this constitutional?
Thank you 🙏🏻
Plus they have Pope Leo XIV
That sounds like a bill of attainder, which is unconstitutional.
Non-violent people at Jan 6th are not going to be affected by that. Only felons convicted in court of law and being pardon does not take away their felon status
It literally does exactly that.
Expungement is a different kettle of fish. And you're ignoring the part in that text that notes the pardon removes legal disabilities. I am admitted to practice in the State of Texas, all federal districts in Texas, and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Where did you get your law license?
Some of the lawyers I see talk law worry me, good lawgic, laid-back law show podcast. so im willing to be wrong. But forgive my apprehension on title
The closest thing I can find on point is a bill of attainder case from SCOTUS in 1960 where the statute at issue actually included an exception to an employment ban for those who had been pardoned.
But based on what we discussed it certainly challengable but the main contention is going to be whether they got due process
But the Q isn't whether they got due process in their criminal trials. It's whether they get it from the city before being barred from employment. The city could, I think, provide for a judicial means to determine eligibility. It just can't rely on a conviction for which the applicant was pardoned.
So, like administrative review of some kind?
I was also looking amicus brief to scotus from Trump v. Anderson
I'll check it out. No, the closest I had was historically United States v. Jefferson Davis. But rechecking my info they are talking city jobs not an elected or appointed position
Chicago’s ordinance applies only to people already convicted by a court-meaning they have had judicial process. It does not declare anyone guilty or impose punishment without a trial, but sets employment qualifications based on court convictions. Courts have generally upheld similar restrictions
Cite me some case law for the proposition that a state or local government can validly enact a law to prohibit employment of persons pardoned after being convicted of the underlying offense. I look forward to reading such cases.
Chicago’s ordinance isn’t a bill of attainder. It bars people already convicted of Jan 6 crimes from city jobs-no one is punished without a trial. Courts have upheld similar employment restrictions for felons. This is about job qualifications, not unconstitutional punishment.
You may have missed the news in January, but they're no longer convicted.
Oh yes they are still convicted felons!! Maybe stick to tax law.
No, Sharon. They are not* still convicted felons. That's the point of the pardon. If they were still convicted felons, they would still be in prison. *The ones who got commutations are still convicted felons, and some had prior convictions that still stand.
Dept. of Justice: “Please also be aware that if you were to be granted a presidential pardon, the pardoned offense would not be removed from your criminal record. Instead, both the federal conviction as well as the pardon would both appear on your record.” From Dec. 2025
From the Dept. of Justice from 2025… “Please also be aware that if you were to be granted a presidential pardon, the pardoned offense would not be removed from your criminal record. Instead, both the federal conviction as well as the pardon would both appear on your record.”
Jesus christ, let it fucking go.
Me?!!! Oh Lordy, you are something else! You really can’t take being wrong.
They only evaded punishment because Trump pardoned them for political reasons. This is different from an appellate court overturning a conviction because it was flawed. No such determination was made. Just like Trump is a convicted felon even though he evaded punishment.
Is a person who was convicted and affirmed on appeal but actually innocent of the crime still a convicted felon when the executive pardons her for having not done the fucking crime, Sharon?
You are mixing up your legal remedies. A pardon is not a finding of no guilt, no matter what the president thinks who grants it. And we all saw with our own eyes how guilty those 1/6 criminals are.
Just "full, complete, and unconditional" doesn't remove the conviction, so it would have to be fought in the courts to expunged
Expungement is record-keeping. It is not a pardon.
They would need to pursue a separate legal process, such as seeking to have the conviction vacated or expunged by a court. A pardon alone does not constitute legal vindication or a declaration of innocence unless it is explicitly granted on the grounds of innocence. Which wasn't granted to anyone
That's a great big melange of completely separate concepts. Just know that you are fundamentally confused on this stuff.
YOU are the one confused on stuff!! That person is absolutely right! As I said before, stick to tax law. Hope you’re better at that!
A jury or a judge heard all of the evidence and found these individuals guilty, or they plead guilty. Trump, who heard no testimony or heard any other evidence pardoned these individuals for political reasons. Nothing he did erases the fact that they were found guilty of felonies.
What happens, Sharon, when the Court of Appeals says the defendant was wrongfully convicted? Is he still guilty of the felonies? No. He is not. Because the Court of Appeals said he is not a convicted felon. He can go through life honestly denying that he was ever convicted of the felony.
Presidential pardons do not involve any findings of innocence. They are simply a power that has been given to the president allowing a pardon for any reason. The individual has still been convicted of a felony, and that conviction has never been found to be in error.
But they do involve innocence sometimes! But who cares? The legal effect is that the conviction evaporates. That's the entire point!
A reversal on appeal is a finding that, for some reason, there was reversible error committed during the trial. Even then, that usually means that the defendant is tried again for the same crime. It is only if there is an acquittal after that or charges are dropped that no conviction exists.
"Only" is where you fail/refuse to comprehend what a pardon is, legally speaking.
I’m a former criminal prosecutor. I know what I’m talking about. You are clueless.
Yes. But that is NOT the same as a pardon.
The effect is the same.
He pardoned them from the legal disabilities that the conviction imposed. POTUS can't expunge their record, for now. But hey maybe Congress can write a law and give him that power? But then would he be able to expunge his own record?🤷
Correct. The conviction stays in the case record unless it is expunged by order of the court, but generally it is accompanied by a notation or document confirming the defendant's pardon.
I already answered this. A pardon means they accept the guilt, is excused by the president and are given their civil rights back.
Although it is sometimes said that acceptance of a pardon carries an implication of guilt, they are in fact no longer guilty of the crime for which they were pardoned and it removes the legal disabilities imposed because of any conviction.
They were pardoned. The records were not expunged. Their convictions still exist. They would have to check yes to the question *have you ever been convicted of a felony* in any job application. The nature of their crimes means the conviction cannot be overlooked like other more minor crimes
Convictions are gone after a pardon. Expungement of court records are a separate issue. And disclosure does not negate the requirement of judicial review.
A bill of attainder is a legislative act that declares a person or group guilty of a crime and imposes punishment without a judicial trial. The Supreme Court’s three-part test asks if the law: Inflicts punishment, Targets specific individuals or groups, Does so without judicial protections
Legislative act: Check. Chicago City Council passed a law. Inflicts punishment: Check. They can't work for the city. Targets individuals or groups: Check. The J6 rioters. No judicial protections: Check. They are not given due process in court first.
That's just too bad for the MAGAs. A person who receives a federal pardon will still have a criminal record. It will contain a notation of the pardon though. It is not the same as an expungement nor a vacated case. So good luck finding a job!
AMEN
Two of the pardoned got drunk, drove wrong way on highway & killed someone. Then there's all the child porn convictions. But according to MAGA they were "fine people". They have a different definition of "fine people" from me.
Plus one tried to run from a cop and got copped!aka shot and killed
Pillars of the community. jeez
They compare them to themselves
🤣
I just so wish the Pinocchio nose was a real thing. Picture that.
Their prerogative
👏👏👏👏
👏👏👏👏👏
I love Chicago 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Hey @governor.ca.gov are you going to do the same?
will that complicit crazy cat 🐱 hire them to collect extortion tariff import taxes on all foreign films 🎥 &or even foreign elements & foreign fx for local yokel movies 🍿 too?
In order to accept a pardon they had to admit guilt. Pardons just get them out of prison, I think.
According to what law?
Well I guess I was wrong about that. Accepting a pardon does not require a guilty plea.
Illinois, despite having a billionaire governor who has been doing well in anti-Trump resistance in the Democratic Party, seems hellbent on not welcoming MAGA the most!
But how will they know?
Ban them from everything public. Ban the crap out of them. They are terrorists. #Resist #Rebel #Revolt
I see the lawsuits coming in from J6ers...and more rants from Trump about the woke DEI of Chicago barring them true hardworking patriots from jobs to protect their own. Probably followed by more EO's.
Yes!
Great - however they were pardoned. The record is gone. I agree with the goal !
Pardoned doesn’t mean the record is gone. “A pardon is an official forgiveness, or release from liability for a criminal offense.… It does not, however, wipe out the fact that the individual was guilty, or expunge the crime from the individual’s criminal record.” legaldictionary.net/pardon/
As I understand a pardon means you are 100% guilty, however punishment cancelled.
They are doing the right thing insurrection ist should not be rewarded
Someone should publish a list of their names and last know location
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Leading the way!!!
👏👏👏
Every blue state should ban insurrectionists from government jobs.
Let's hope this starts a precedent and other cities follow.
This is the way. I’m sure the babies will file a class action suit for discrimination against fucking losers.
👏👏
Love my City. Love my state.
Me too. 💙
As should EVERY City!!
Yes they are.
Other states need to do the same!
Yes!!! So smart!!!
Those rioters are not well in the mental and spiritual to be quite honest...we should see those rioters back in society only if their minds and souls are saved first vibes in places like in at least mental institutions vibes...we should never forget the event of January 6th to be quite honest...
those rioters almost destroyed democracy...those rioters should've thought of something else to do that most fateful day like go to work and go learn something vibes that day for their constant breathing instead of being about the destruction of the U.S. Capitol...
those rioters needs some therapists for their mental and spiritual health at least.
How bout some shock therapy - or a lobotomy? (snicker)
They should be sent to the gulag in el shithole along with their dear leader who instigated the assault on our capital!
👏👏👏👏. I love thinking outside the box. Of course, this will be taken to court, but some of them are truly dangerous people. Some were just sheep with red hats.
All 100% unemployable.
