It depends. There's several influences upon their attitudes, just like other countries. We really don't know what percentages prefer what ideology. Khan, Lenin, Marx, just to name a few. It's hard to no just what as Putin keeps a tight control on any statistics that come out of Russia.

Their beliefs were definitely more cemented, especially that of a Monarchy & Church. There were variances, though, especially opposition of a parliamentary variety & the separation of church & state. But yeah, it didn't come to a head until Rasputin's insanity gave rise to Bolshevik Communism. :3

We already know that. Just look at USSR. They survived famine multiple times. But once their government lost the war in Afghanistan, the USSR broke down. Same stuff with the russian empire: lost Japanese war (caused the first revolution) + were beaten up badly during WWI => the empire collapsed.
