Yes, they are scum. But let's not fool ourselves. They could only do what they did because voters not only elected them but elected GOP members of the Senate with the same beliefs over and over again for decades. They had the majority necessary and the presidency. The fault is on voters.

It's not about blame. It tells us voters in more states are more conservative & vote that way. They do so consistently, hence all the R governors and legislatures. If we don't nominate candidates who can speak to them we will continue to lose. It's not all the usual scapegoats. It's voters.

Examine the voter suppression and gerrymandering data. Legislatures and DC are strongly impacted. Governors less so, but moderate liberal governors are usually held back by conservative legislators or state courts even when they win.

It basically will give future courts the power to overturn any previous Supreme Court decision no matter how settled

Any case is going all the way back to Marbury versus Madison. This is precisely and exactly the way our constitutional order does not work. Fundamentally they’ve sabotaged the founders completely. In short, we are fucked.

There should definitely be term limits for SCOTUS. We can't let these biased, spineless idiots trample on the rights of Americans for not being conservatives or MAGA cultists.

Term limits and an ethics code that they cannot ignore. An enforcement mechanism for that ethics code that is not under their control. Penalties for breaking that code that are serious and harsh. It should cost them their freedom and a chunk of their life to screw around like this.

It's called "impeachment" by Congress." And if the response is, "But that will never happen!," the same can be said about any "separate ethics commission with authority to discipline Justices." That would take an Amendment, and then the question would be, "Who gets to pick the commissioners?"

I think that it needs to be outside of congress's purview. It needs to be an apolitical process, something that has nothing to do with who is in office.

That doesn't fit into the Constitution with its three coequal branches of government. There's also an infinite regress because the process of selecting "ethics judges" will always be political. Challenge is that selecting Justices has become hyper-partisan. There's no easy solution.

Then we make an amendment.
