We have helped schools get the certs they need to get more funding by paying for their lunches and much much more. We are working on opening more. I opened this one in 2003 www.markcubanheroescenter.org

So then can we not be taxed either?
bravo 👏🏽
There is a reason why the Bible says that it’s better to a good deed and have no one know it was you.
Why does seem t/b only about Mark Cuban? These guys also punch at Bezos, Musk, Zuckerberg, Thiel, etc.?
Are all your employees earning the top salary and benefits for their respective fields? If not, why? How about contract employees? Your success is maintained by their labor.
I love and respect what you do for your fellow humans. I just wish that you would buy the Pirates and get Pittsburgh another World Series title. 😁
Any thoughts on what to do about the consolidation of wealth by people that don't want to help society? I honestly appreciate what you do as opposed to what you could do with your wealth. I find that many of the richest learned something different in business school ethics classes
I was not aware and that is awesome!
Thank you for doing this. I hope more wealthy people will follow.
I applaud Mark's activity on medical pricing, but a free country cannot count on the ultra-rich to decide on the priorities of society. The government needs to keep the less glamorous aspects of citizen services running through taxes & laws, and the rich should be counted on to pay their fair share.
Tax the rich!
As a fiscal hawk, I believe two things to be true. It is true that government spending needs to be controlled in a way to reduce waste and fraud. I think the defense department is the biggest abuse of our tax dollars. But it can also be trued that we need more tax dollars to fund our govt.
Michael Hawley, the U.S. top tax rate in 1944 was 94%. Today, it's 37%, with decreases coming thanks to Trump 😡
Time to realize the federal government is no longer concerned about its citizens, we have to make decisions for ourselves l
Thank you Mark, for engaging here despite the rough crowd, and for your efforts like this. You give me a little hope for this country, which is a rare thing these days.
Huh. I think i just figured out why i like you - simply put, you use your actions to back up your integrity. It makes me nervous because the help seems to be at your whim, but you continue to demonstrate your character and know how to throw what weight you have around.
Awesome
Imagine if trickle down economics worked. We would have just taxed you so schools could run the way they should. Imagine if Robinhood went around taking working families money then turned and ask "how can I help you, poor people? "
How bout starting Mark Cuban Homeowners Insurance???
Very kind man indead! But self funded programs that should be funded by feds confirms for conservatives that government shouldn't be in funding social programs so how a out a compromise? For every public schools and programs that are now privately funded, we elinate one house seat from that state?
If those public schools and programs are not federally funded, there is no need for representation of those residents since their job is to advocate for those residents.
The Epstein files!!!!
Mark I want to use my (comparatively small) fortune to develop a truly open platform for discourse on the web. Users and independent developers get to try out all the ideas for discourse and learning. We create the ideal system together to plan out our future, not being owned by oligarchs.
Wishing you great success like the other initiatives, but this time I hope it will not be named (on purpose or not) after a device by a specific company (-;
It'll be called RSS.
how do you want it to be different from all the prior art? i'm sure there's a few dozen such platforms already
i've written about it on my blog, pretty open about it.
Ffs - if the US taxed properly like they did before Reagon you wouldn't need assistance through charities, apps, etc - you would have universal eral healthcare. Stop believing this bullshit! And demand better!
Philanthropy is necessary when the gov't isn't taxing the rich as it ought to.
Everyone has a responsibility to pay their fair share. Everyone has the responsibility to make sure that it is spent fairly. Give support and accolades to those who do so. Thank you Mr. Cuban for your support.
Thanks mark
Do you know why Elon Musk is not for the working poor?
It is true we don't need government to solve the problem. We simply need an economy centered around the working class with small businesses opportunities who network together into an efficient self sustaining economy system. Technology opens the door. We don't need corporate scale.
Voluntary actions to remedy the the problems with the current system are good and should be recognized as such. But it doesn't change the underlying need to fix the system.
So UR sayin' deploying National Guard troops to BFUSA is not good use of our tax dollars?
How about we go back to the 90% tax rate and see how that works. I am suspicious of rich people asserting that taxing the rich is not the way to go. I say, lets try it and see. Charity is patchwork and capricious compared to government programs with set criteria.
What about paying for school supplies so the teachers don't have to?
Would that be river levels for the VP, building an additional annex for ballroom dancing, or how about private security for Hegseth, and on and on, it's certainly clear the rich have access, I dont
👍👍👍👍👍🎖️
Nice. But Mark, don't give in and let the bluesky kids harass you into 'proving your worth' because to them you can never do enough.
What has he done to begin with?
Great thoughts and actions boys and girls but, do you really think that the government should not provide what is needed for education in a democracy. Compare us to other democracies. We are freaking losers. VOTE
If you are considering a run in 2028 start formulating your team and larger message.
This is why I am a socialist. If everyone paid their taxes we wouldn't need BS charity. School lunches would be paid BY WE THE PEOPLE. Charity is just tax shelters and money laundering for rich people. It's bullshit and they should not exist. And churches should be taxed
Mark Cuban. You're the real hero. Have you and @profgalloway.com ever had an interview? That would be very interesting
In the next couple weeks.
Fantastic, look forward to reading about it.
I’ve seen other highly successful people do great things with their money in giving back. I agree with Mark C. Many give their money in highly effective ways. We can tax the rest!🤔😏
Thank you Mark! You’re a good man.
How about if EVERYONE paid their fair share?! The rich should be paying at least the same rate as the middle class or the poor. It would be easier for them to do without the same percentage of $ than for the rest of us who have to watch every penny.
This is partially a function of a tax code with special rates for capital gains, special deductions, special credits, etc. Also a FICA cap. I would argue that you could get the rich to pay a similar percentage by simplifying the tax code. Get rid of FICA and just increase the income tax rate.
I have to be honest @mcuban.bsky.social, I was very critical of you not for your political beliefs because I am anti-Trump. I said something to the effect that we shouldn’t trust another arrogant billionaire, after reading this I have a change of heart. I don’t see weirdo Elon, J Bezos doing this.
We don't want to do more damage to the financial market. Let's work on removing you. Know who first
Cool now we get to beg. I got a better idea. Why don’t the masses get together and attack the rich. Drag them into the streets then tar and feather them. How does that sound?
Mark Cuban, you’re turning into the conscience of the nation. Everything you do is so authentic and direct. But I’ll always love you for letting me listen to the Pittsburgh Pirates games from San Francisco.
Heroes for Hire is taken by Marvel. I'll just look the other way ;-)
Yes!
Maybe term limits in congress so we don't have the same do nothing ass kissers deciding HOW OUR TAX DOLLARS ARE SPENT. Google there wealth and you will see the big picture. EVERYTHING FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE WEALTHYEST AMONG US.
Sure, let's fund schools on a voluntary basis. It wasn't that way when I went to school. We lived in a society that valued education as a right, not some billionaire vanity project.
Society that relies on the largesse of a few truly wealthy, live in a “company” society.
Until we get the orangutan out of office we’re going to have to cover a lot of these bases on our own. Thanks for your good citizenship. Encourage your equally fortunate bros to do the same.
This is nice work, but taxes are the responsibility of every citizen. The wealthy succeed based on the infrastructure provided by the poor and middle class. They must pay their fair share. Charity work is a drop in the bucket and they get tax break for it.
I'm not opposed to having one pay their fair share. But "fair share" is a subjective term. I would argue one way to get to a "fair share" is to simplify the tax code and have less deductions and credits.
Yeah, let everyone just follow the law. Fair isn’t subjective. It’s mandated by law. And by any standard, the wealthy aren’t paying anything like a proportional amount. Plus they evade and litigate their way out of supporting our society.
And a huge tax code makes that very easy to do. Used to be conservatives were for simplifying the tax code. But the past two tax bills they have passed under Trump has made it way more complicated and I've seen the effects of the complications (I'm a CPA).
We can’t let T’s anomalies distort the underlying truth. The super rich get away with shirking their responsibilities to society. They don’t get to make up their own tax code just because they think they are treated unfairly. Plus, they act better when they have a tangible stake in the country.
Its not just Trump. Its the republican party. Both the left and the right have used the tax code to promote policies that has given us the shitshow tax code that we have now
Assuming you’re right, reaching an equitable solution can’t be achieved with vigilanteism. Let the wealthy get on board, and be full participants in American society. Then we can talk about fairness. Until then, they don’t deserve a voice.
I guess what I am arguing is simplifying the tax code. That used to be a republican talking point. So talk their language, but take steps that will make the rich pay more. I have given a few suggestions. You'll get push back on those.
But then attack them for supporting a bloated tax code and protecting the rich.
OK. There are lots of reasons to demand reform from government. But that doesn’t absolve the wealthy from paying taxes or from being taxed at a proportionally higher rate. They are still at fault.
Absolutely. It takes all of us. Nice job Mark One more thing though, how bout we don't choose corrupt POTUS or leaders anymore. Is it THAT difficult....
👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Thank you, Mark. And thank you for still engaging here.
Mark, you have demonstrated your civic awareness on many occasions, and are to be commended for using you wealth and business acumen for good causes! The only thing the Republican Taliban wants to put in our schools is The Ten Commandments; no food for kids!!
Mark, what's the base pay for your average employee? Do or did you pay a living wage for people in Dallas? If so what is considered a living wage to you?
wouldn't a better ambition be.... ....that people earn enough to pay for their kind's lunches.....???
That's not possible for a lot of kids because of who their parents are. disabled/kids make up a huge proportion of social spending. free k-12 keeps kids from falling through the application cracks.
So a guaranteed basic income? I agree. That would be the most efficient mechanism.
Our government is actually pretty efficient if you look at actual data. They waste far less than most corporations. The appalling waste right now by this administration is the worst we’ve ever seen. But right now that pales in comparison to losing our rights, our democracy, and our hope.
It’s Mark Cuban highlighting his long-term support for schools, including funding lunches and certifications to secure more resources. He’s also expanding efforts through a center he started in 2003 to help communities.
We shouldn't have to rely on your beneficence.
