There is a massive effort underway - the industry working hand in glove with the Trump White House - to stop AI from being regulated. MAGA will pay a huge political price for this once the AI-driven job loss goes nuclear. And it will. Sooner than people think.

Serious hypothetical question: It’s 2029, AI-driven job loss has already gone nuclear, Trump is gone, and the Democrats control the Presidency, House and Senate by slim margins. What does a Dem administration do re: the AI industry to stem/reverse the job losses?

Here's a novel idea: States start taking care of their people & investing in the human beings that they are. I know, it's radical. Some may even call me crazy to believe it takes a village & that's why we're in perpetual states of suffering; feeling cut off, alone, despondent, depressed. Nutty huh?

Another aspect is AI taking taking credit (stealing) the work of others. So far AI is glorified google. It can plagiarize copyrighted literature & not-yet-published-or-safety-tested medical research. There is great opportunity for theft & misuse of information, hence the desire to avoid regulation.

I have experience building basic apps with AI. It is relatively straightforward to build an AI app that can answer simple customer service questions. It is near impossible to make an AI write code correctly, or well. Low wage jobs will be replaced, which will hit MAGA hardest of all.

Short sighted - cutting services as massive AI job loss looms. Ds need to be aggressive and clear on this. Produce data. How many jobs will be replaced by AI and robots. What do we do with all of those people? Manual labor? Robots will be doing that. These stats exist. There’s no going back.

I don’t think there are any regulations that can stop automation of the workforce. How would that look? Ban ai, ban LLMs or ban replacing humans. Or the other tact would be to ban systems that use copyrighted data. But, I’m afraid that none of this could really hold up or stop this technology.
