Was a teacher for years and taught a lot of children on the spectrum, but in mainstream schools. The training is just add ons and there’s a lack of support. So many children are just seen as the sum of their behaviour.

I definitely was 😉 I did the first year of secondary school and then became a serial truant, I left with no qualifications, I didn't even sit any exams. Thankfully its improving but its awfully slow.

It’s one size fits all. Would rather tweak the curriculum to make learning enjoyable, than tweak the pupils to make them “fit in.”

Yes, thats always been my argument, it was never that I couldn't learn, it was that I wanted to learn at my pace and about subjects that interested me.
