My son would be much easier to manage if we all had wine
My son would be much easier to manage if we all had wine
I was 18 when my little brother was born. While I know Mom didn't do it with me--or swears she didn't--I was amused and alarmed when I found out she was plying my very energetic toddler brother full of Benadryl during the day so she could get some rest. I get it! But also: JFC.
I sat next to a Moroccan mom on my flight to Casablanca and she said she made the trip often and gave her kids Benadryl to make it easier and I didn't have kids yet but I did travel a lot with middle schoolers and I was like -- ya know what, it's survival, baby
I feel this was way more common than most people admit.
Ohhhh, I adored our benadryl cough syrup when it had alcohol.
"Give them a little whiskey on the gums to help with teething" my ass. The whiskey did nothing for the teething--it was all about getting them Foster Brooks shit-faced so they'd pass out.
