I finished the Assistant to the Villain series (so far) and book 3 was definitely the weakest. Too many POV changes and pointless excursions, only to end on a stupid cliffhanger. I'm sure I'll probably read the 4th when it comes out, but hopefully the editing will be a little tighter. Since then+

I just ordered a pair of flare (!!) and a pair of straight leg and a cropped boot cut that'll probably be normal on me lol and a pair of clearance red leggings I tried on the skinny jeans from before baby 2 and they still fit (!) so I'm hoping the sizing is consistent and we'll see how they look on

Yeah, I feel like the premise could have gone much darker but it's actually really refreshing that it's silly, if that makes sense. I will say book 3 is ... almost too silly. But i honestly don't think I could read anything dark right now, so it works for me lol I need goofy escapism at the moment!

I think about this constantly. My son goes to preschool across from a Planned Parenthood and even in our very blue area it makes me nervous. I'm not sure how I'll handle him being at public school all day, esp kindergarten when he'll have no phone and no way to reach me
The FMC is funny and a bit awkward, which I think makes it more fun. I'm looking forward to seeing where the story goes. I think book 3 just came out and I saw there might be a 4th, which sucks because each book ends on a cliffhanger that leads right into the next, so I'll be mad to wait lol
The tone is very light and humorous, so it's quick to get into. It's not the wild deep world building of other series, but the characters are all very likeable and you care about them quickly. I enjoy that it's 3rd person narration, bc I'm pretty sick of the genre tendency of 1st person
After a dry spell, I started Assistant to the Villain and finished it in 24 hours. Then I finished the second book, Apprentice to the Villain, in a couple days. I'm about 30% through the 3rd book, Accomplice to the Villain. It's a romantasy without the 🌶️ which I like. It's been a very fun read!
