Democratic senators are caving.. voting to often for right/ as my Michigan senators on a few occasions 💧
Go ahead and cut our benefits! #FAFO
What about the provisions granting presidential powers!!!!!
The moderates always cave The moderates always cave The moderates always cave The moderates always cave The moderates always cave I will bet anyone $100 that this simple rule predicts the future better than any idiot "political reporter" analyzing kayfabe "divisions in the GOP."
The Senate leadership should grow a pair. Screw what trump wants. This "Big Beautiful Bill" thing is one of those phrases that came up off the top of his head (like Space Force). It's out of a desire for tax cuts. Plus, they are setting this thing up to cause problems in time for a 2028 election.
The new Republican plan is to replace the deported immigrants in the fields with sick white people thrown off of Medicaid.
So just screw inner city poor?
" We are going to rape them... the question is how many times... ?"
Oh so the Republicans are negotiating on just how many people to screw over so the billionaires can benefit? Fuck the Republican fascists.
Fucking over the cities where the minorities
Every Dem needs to vote no. Including Fetterman

It will negatively impact rural “hospitals” only because it negatively impacts rural people. City people, too. But those are represented by Democrats and therefore matter even less.
Sadly it sounds like protect our voters not our healthcare
I’m clearly missing something in your comment. We’re clearly on the same side of this but why is “hospitals” in quotes? We have them. They already struggle to stay staffed and have to travel hour away for many specialties (ambulance from here to there). This will make that worse.
Thanks for asking as I didn’t mean to demean hospitals. Media like Politico sanitize the fact that human citizens are the ones losing benefits. I am a rural healthcare provider myself and will be financially hurt by the cuts. But only as an after-effect of rural residents getting hurt.
Ah. I understand the need to focus on the people getting hurt but I feel like the “sanitizing” isn’t intentional here. The powers that be have been told from every angle about the people ON Medicaid getting hurt and have shown they don’t care. 1/2
They need to see that those on private insurance will be hurt too when they cannot get care because there just isn’t a provider. Providers close practices because they can no longer afford to practice where Medicaid is the main insurer. They need to see it hit people like them to care. 2/2
What rural hospitals?
The party of family values and pro-life, just not your family or your life. Money trumps integrity. Pathologically sociopathic
I thought Congress was obsessed with polls. They should take a look at how the mega bill is polling.
They’re obsessed with saying ‘yes’ to trump.
Disgusting
Has the provision to excuse the government from contempt of court rulings still in the bill?
Holding out for larger bribes.
So the same Republicans who were happily planning to close countless hospitals (mostly in red states) if nobody had noticed, are now asking people to trust them to set up a rural hospital fund? Falls under the "Fool me once..." clause, I would think.
The fund is just words to buy votes and cover for votes. Once the pile of shit bill is passed, fund? What fund?

trumps horrific america. SELLING OFF OUR LAND DEFUNDING HEALTH CARE TAKING POWER AWAY FROM COURTS BUILDING LAWLESS ICE THUG ARMY BALLOONING THE DEFICIT PERMANENT TAX CUTS FOR THE RICH HUGE GIFTS TO OIL AND GAS CORPS RIPPING AWAY EPA REPUBLICANS SELLING OUT AMERICA.
And the dems that vote accordingly. Don't leave them out.
Who didn't see this coming? Last term, they paid off the farmers. Last week, they exempted farms, hotels etc., from the raids. It's all transactional with one goal: Stay in power
If they pass the 'murder bill,' they can kiss their political careers goodbye.
Unfortunately 1 of my 2 senators who are both firmly up his butt just started his term and we are stuck with his ass for 6 long years. The other however replaced Vance and is up for reelection in 2026. I reminded him this bill has a 20% approval rating and 20% isn't getting him elected
If Congress changes to Dem, your newly elected Senator may face charges, so just because he's not running for reelection doesn't mean there can't be charges against him. I think, after this Trump debacle is all over, lots of govt electees, esp Repubs, are going to be facing some serious charges.
Fingers crossed
At the world court.
Let’s hope. People who hate government should not be in charge of government. #DumpTheGOP
Especially those people who hate other people.
They have the money to set up this fund but not to just continue funding Medicaid?
They’re afraid states will actually use the funds to take care of their residents. Better to take care of the hospital corps. When will enough voters wake up to the fact that the GOP is NOT conservative, fiscally responsible, nor interested in their well being?
All of this is to give the appearance of pushback. There are no holdouts. The Republicans are going to pass the bill.
Help for rural hospitals? Conservative, Republican voters hate that sort of welfare state thinking. Congress should respect their values - no help for rural hospitals, send the help to urban hospitals where people want it and will appreciate it.
This blue dot In a red and rural area has a gesture for that whole thought process. 🖕🏼 Translation: I’m the baby you’d be throwing out with that filthy bathwater. Not thanks.
Well, maybe they can make an exception for blue dots. I’m just saying, rural voters in general, mostly conservative, Republican, are gleefully trying to cut programs for everyone else, so how odd is it to hear about help being set aside specifically for them? Seems rather odd and inappropriate.
You have to be seriously evil when you choose to rip healthcare away from people, rather than simply having the rich pay the taxes they're supposed to pay.
I don’t know if this is true, but I heard that there’s massive plan sales of public lands to fund tax cuts for the rich. Is this true? How can we get that out of this bill?
These fuckclusters don't give a rat's ass about "rural hospitals". They're just worried that dipstick poor Republicans won't show up at the polls next cycle if their health insurance gets disintegrated, but they're hoping they can keep them on side with extra bigotry. Guess we'll find out.
Negatively impact hospitals? Let’s call it what it is. People will die. Period.
Its beyond that. Theres some rural areas that are soley surviving on medcaid and medicare and would have zero healthcare without it
. Meanwhile . . . "Republicans slipped a provision into their big spending bill that would limit the power of federal judges to hold people in contempt, potentially allowing Trump and his administration to violate court orders without consequence." - Peter Baker NYT @peterbakernyt.bsky.social
John Thune is a fully signed up member of the Nazi party!
The Senate needs a new leader right Chuck?
Newsflash - none of these “Medicaid moderates” will have a spine. They will eventually cave to give Trump & his cronies more tax benefits. Damn the poor!
It almost sounds like they care about their constituents but theyre really the only selfish aholes that realize they could lose constituents, by death or party change.
Bullshit!
Taxpayer subsidize rural hospitals, like we do for farmers, fossil fuel industry and autos
Have taxpayers pay the rural hospitals……
By the time they are done this thing will look like a pop cycle stick man held together by bandaids and won’t resemble coherent policy at all. The core, however, will still be rotten. They need to rip out any power shifts to the executive. He can’t be trusted.
You can’t make this toddler happy no matter what you give him. What he really needs is a good swat on the butt. Maybe the GOP should try that.
They are also wanting to sell millions of remote forests to help pay for the rich tax cuts.
Hilarious. The so-called leadership knows this is a crap bill. They are trying to convince several members that it isn't a crap bill, who also know its a crap bill. There are also those who don't think it goes far enough in being cruel. They like that it's a crap bill.
So, the case they are making to the other Senators is... "...you're constituents will get kinda screwed, not completely! You'll have your tax break, health insurance, expense account and Fed pension! Ties to insider stock trading! You're all set!"
Oh hell no. Seeding relief funds with my tax dollars because Congress itself cut the funds already there? Nope nope nope nope nope nope.
Democratic Senators better not give in to these horrific people.
lol, first time?
We need to call reps and senators this bill is life changing
Let me help you Senate Republicans, Medicaid is the only thing keeping rural hospitals and some urban hospitals affloat. If u pass any version of these cuts it will be a disaster for everyone; pvt insurance prices will skyrocket, hospitals will close, people will die.
FYI the GOP doesn't identify or care about anyone who needs to use Medicare or Medicaid. Those folks don't donate to campaigns.
They definitely make that very clear don't they?
Thank you. People will die and they know it and do not care.
The greed that drives this behavior is horrifying...
Don't forget about the judicial nightmares. Limiting their power and blocking citizens and nonprofits from suing.
I think you mean “Senate looks for plausible deniability to steal from the poor to give to the rich”
Destroying rural hospitals, denying children healthcare, & bankrupting families who desperately need healthcare for their loved ones to survive, oughta kill the careers of every legislator that votes for the Big Bloated Bill of Billionaire Benefits & Bonuses.
They willl negotiate to make rural areas even more dependent upon urban areas for their lifestyle. But at least their politicians are representing their interests.
Everyone one of these asshats better be held accountable.
This bill will pass. These "hold outs" will make a show of resistance, pearl clutching, hand wringing, and will vote for it anyway. It's what they always do.
This is also so fucking stupid. Maybe just don’t make the cuts??
But then the massive tax giveaways drive up the deficit. There's just no alternative.
RIGHT🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
Yes exactly they are trying to patch holes that they knew going in because it hurts people. What school kid gets to change their answer two days after the test I guess only republicans
if you need a reserve fund to cover the damage Medicaid cuts will cause then why cut Medicaid to begin with?
Let’s make a new fund to help the lack of rural hospitals caused by our catastrophic bill. Then we’ll stop funding the fund as soon as we can.
"... you know you want to f**k 'em, come on really F**k Them!"
This bill has very little support from We the People. A great idea would be to scrap it and work out a budget that addresses the debt and raising taxes to pay for our excessive spending over the decades. Thune is such a tool, destroying what little integrity the Senate still has.
People, get ready. The senate is going to pass that big ugly bill and screw us all.
The republicans did not win the 2024 elections
I can't wait for @schumer.senate.gov to give the GOP the cloture votes to ram this piece of shit through.
I think his cloture vote earlier, to prevent the shut down, WAS our chance to do that. They’re using reconciliation (over some objection from the Parliamentarian), so they only need 50 votes now (plus Vance).
Ah right, fuck. Well, the important thing to note is that @schumer.senate.gov bears full responsibility either way.
The only POSSIBLE hope is that the Senate’s changes means their bill goes to the House. There are a few GOP House members (and we only NEED a few) who have said there were provisions they never would have voted for, but hoping for spines from Republicans is a long shot.
But wouldn’t that still mean that former Medicaid recipients would still be without health insurance ?? What good is having a hospital if you can’t afford to go to it??
DONT VOTE FOR THAT BILL.
It's not a problem to be negotiated away. The cuts will absolutely damage and force closures of rural hospitals. We've been there & done that before. These GOP want to hide this or try to blame Dems, all the while sneaking other major attacks on democracy & rights of most Americans.
So, they're going to focus the bills so that they only hurt Dem cities and states. They'll carve out exemptions (for using immigrants). And all those Trump voters will stop saying they regret voting for him -thus also saving the midterms. One nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
Tax the rich.
Senate leadership needs to worry more about their constituents than pleasing their coworkers. If not their constituents will vote according in the next election.
Read the Bill line by line and loudly!
How many different ways can they say "We don't care"?
Meantime, it’ll still hurt millions of Americans.
Paid for by blue cities, as usual
Anyone who supports this bill needs to be fired
Upon.
Under absolutely no condition should rural areas receive preferential treatment… especially considering they VOTED FOR THIS disaster!
So in order to avoid paying for poor people's medical bills, they want to directly fund rural hospitals without that pesky "helping the poor" feeling
I have an idea. Lets take a moderately good economy and fuck it up with threats of tariffs, wars, bad bills, deportation, and anything else we can dream up to make it worse. What Jay Powell is really thinking "Cut me some fucking slack jack".
So they give funds to keep a hospital open but the people there won’t be able to afford to use it. Make sure the hospital administrators don’t go broke, but let the poor suffer. There are no words.
Idiots
Democratic officials are being unlawfully arrested. A Trump supporter assassinated Democratic officials. Trump has defied our courts, deported Americans, disappeared people off the streets, attacked our civil rights & slashed our services. Upcoming elections! Visit ballotpedia.org/Elections_ca...
How you address their concerns is that you don't pass this bill that none of your voters want.
☝️🖤
There are 446,000 homeless children under the age of three in this nation and Senate Republicans are busy trying to make gutting healthcare for poor people more palatable to their members. smh 🤦🏽♂️
All characters are 18+ years old. 18+ only. 🔞
This smells like let's take care of "our voters" and fuck the rest.
I can’t believe this. One thing that would prop up hospitals are patients with actual health insurance to pay for care. Portable, comprehensive, affordable healthcare. Like the plans through the ACA and Medicaid. The GOP never thought of a plan to replace the ACA, so millions will just suffer.
There is too much other shit in this bill.
Fuck these greedy shit stains.
How about just keep rejecting the bill PERIOD
This means we're days away from this passing. Prepare yourselves for the carnage
Medicaid moderate = not a complete idiot
In other words, it's the "Let's Make Sure We Fuck Cities Harder" Act.

Sending 250 of the nation’s hospital execs to the Capital is too strong a lobby to screw with. Even if their motives are a bit vile, their advocacy just might save a bunch of lives.
How about every fkng nursing home. What’s wrong with these idiots?
Thank you for pointing that out. Nursing homes will also close and residents will be homeless 🤬🤬🤬
And their children will be left to care for them. What a nightmare we are living through so the rich can buy another plane.
And the adults caring for their parents will have to leave jobs, so they'll be less able to afford anything and will be less of a tax base.
The Senate is the only chance there is to go down the tubes and live and die a shitty life.
Republicans don't care about people.
It’s not just rural hospitals. Do your homework, journalists. Investigate. Back during the Clinton/early Obama recession, at least 2 hospitals closed in San Diego. They went bankrupt. If Congress pulls out funding without a couple years notice (time to change their biz model) it will happen again.
Being required to provide emergency services, including psych. care, without Medicaid reimbursement will absolutely bankrupt many hospitals.
Don't worry - they'll be going after EMTALA next. I'm expecting that soon. #ProLifePartyMyAss
Thats a lot of money. Kill the tax breaks.
They are bargaining with people’s lives so billionaires can get another yacht. Absolutely despicable.
Hahahaha red state rural hospital which are privately owned are toast without some kind of compensation. These hospitals are lobbying the hell out of the Senate.
Look if they take out the parts that give Trump unfettered power. And we can have midterms then it will pass. We the people can fix it in post!
Rural Americans are going to lose healthcare. My family is 55 miles from the next hospital should our hospital close.
Fuck these guys. Why aren’t we pointing out how all these rich senators are voting to give themselves a tax break?
TAX THE FUCKING RICH PEOPLE MORE, NOT LESS…!!!!! And, NO FUCKING TAX CUTS…!!!
JUST TAX THE F*CKING BILLIONAIRES AND FORCE CORPORATIONS TO PAY THEIR F*CKING TAXES! JFC!!
And such bs - the provider tax cuts will hurt all hospitals and Nursing homes who serve Medicaid population and will cut services bc states will not be able to afford it. Not to even mention the ACA impact. The GOP can F off with its bs.
Just get on with the impeachment and removal. This is number 1
why not reverse the medicaid cuts? because that would admit defeat of the master plan
Yeah save the rural hospitals in red States. Everyone else can go to hell after all we all die!
No welfare tax cuts for the wealthy! Vote every last fascist MAGA candidate OUT!
Easy answer: do not cut Medicare of Medicaid. Done!
“Medicaid moderates” - we are unfathomably cooked
There is so much wrong with this bill beside Medicaid cuts. It basically give the executive branch the power to ignore judicial rulings. It allows public land to be sold, denying the public from using it.
bsky.app/profile/jess...
You also have to pay to sue the government.
They're going to devalue our currency, wreck our credit, and rip health care from millions all just to give tax cuts to people who are already rich, but a rural hospital fund is going to make it all better?
Hit them on stealing our public lands to sell to the highest Saudi bidder!!
Don't trust them.
Senate Republicans should really ponder not giving billionaires huge tax breaks at the expense of the American people, as that is an insanely unpopular idea.
Tax churches, the rich and corporations
