There is a documentary that goes into detail about the wetlands removal near the lower ninth ward to slow the water. This was the only wetland area removed.

I don’t think the lower 9th Ward will ever be rebuilt - I believe it is 20 feet below sea level. Wetlands must be restored because they are a barrier. The Levee system must be maintained. It wasn’t in 2004
