Oh wow, thats so cool. Thats an "instant box camera" (which goes by many other names), a mostly forgotten niche type of camera for photographers to sell "instant" photos on the street. There is basically a tiny darkroom in that box and its a really fascinating process...

...They were mostly disappearing by the time this was taken, but survived in various corners of the world for decades afterward. They are most well known, now, as "Afghan Box Cameras" because of the amazing work done by folks like Lukas Birk, documenting the end of their use in Afghanistan c. 2012.
