why don't the privileged class get a feel for it now.
why don't the privileged class get a feel for it now.
Sadly, you already answered your own question.
John Kenneth Galbraith: “People of privilege will always risk their complete destruction rather than surrender any material portion of their privilege.”
"It is the duty of the poor to support and sustain the rich in their power and idleness. In doing so, they have to work before the laws' majestic equality, which forbids rich and poor alike to sleep under bridges, beg in the streets and steal loaves of bread." Anatole France
📌 this quote
Love it!! Crystal clear!
It's tied to their (the over privileged) self-worth and sense of being. They feel they are worthless without it. It's just greed. Convincing themselves they are superior is the objective. They want it all and others to have nothing. It's a sickness.
For anyone who doesn't know who John Kenneth Galbraith is, he's the critically acclaimed economist that wrote the book "The Great Crash 1929" in 1954.
It would have been a lot more useful if he had written that 25 years sooner, don't ya think?
He also wrote "Money", The Age of Uncertainty" and "The Culture of Contentment ". I wish Americans did more critical reading and thinking.
We have you apparently 😏
We’ve. Come addicted to clicks, 6-second takes, memes, and doom-scrolling. I’m literally trying to retrain myself to read actual books, put my phone down so I’m not constantly checking, etc.
