Standard operating procedure in meth houses. If they start putting up tinfoil on the insides of the windows then we know for sure that is the answer. At this point, nothing would surprise me. Disgust? Yes. Surprise? No.

The right wing media is up in arms about folks questioning the health of a sitting US president (conveniently forgetting everything they said about Joe Biden just last year). We should question though and we deserve answers. If he's alive but incapacitated then he needs to step down. If he's dead...

Pål Steigan (born 31 May 1949) is a Norwegian writer and politician, best known as founder of the newspaper Klassekampen and the website Steigan.no. He was leader of the Maoist Workers' Communist Party, AKP (m-l) from 1975 to 1984, and co-leader of the Red Electoral Alliance (RV) until 1979.[1][2] Both parties were small fringe parties that were never represented in parliament during his tenure. He co-founded Klassekampen as a monthly periodical in 1969, and during his leadership AKP developed the periodical into a newspaper in 1977. He later founded the alternative news website Steigan.no that is described by mainstream Norwegian media as a platform of Russian propaganda, conspiracy theories, racism and transphobia.[3][4][5]

Maybe they do things differently in Texas but in my state that's called Unlawful Imprisonment and it is considered to be a felony. It would be very interesting if the local prosecutor there in Austin chose to file criminal charges against the people who are holding Rep Collier against her will.

Death to Smoochy is one of my all time favorite films. It's always baffled me that the critics pretty much universally panned it; it's sheer genius in my view.

Not to forget the creme de la creme, the big "ni**ers go home" banner (spelled out without the asterisks of course). These are our neighbors. That one was a bit beyond the pale even for these folks apparently because it came down within a day. Fuck these people; they can all burn

That's exactly what it means and it always has since the passage of the 13th Amendment at the close of the Civil War. It's not a bug, it is by design.

You know, I hadn't even considered the 'push his buttons so hard that he works himself into such a frenzy that he drops dead' angle but you may be onto something here. From your lips to God's ears as they say.

Ted Cruz is also overestimating how Republican Texas is. Not even taking into account folks who were prevented from voting altogether the split was 56.14% Trump to 42.46% Harris at last years election. By that logic, the GOP should only have @21 Congressional seats rather than 24. Gerrymandering.

100%. I ascribe to the Mark Twain school of thought, "Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience." Always good advice.

It seems that Grok has been getting a little to 'woke' lately and I'm suspecting that Musk has shut it down until they can re-nazify it. It's a well known fact that reality has a liberal bias; I'm sure that pisses of Musk and the rest of the MAGA crowd to no end.

As much as I would love to go up to B.C. for the weekend the reality is that it's not safe for any of us, US citizens or otherwise, to go through a border crossings. I am doing everything in my power to avoid contact with federal law enforcement of any sort.

Yep, as a Seattlite I can testify that our local tourism spots are much quieter than normal and I 100% support that. No one should enter the USA right now, it's not safe. Stay away until we get this sorted out. It might take awhile though.

Turkey vultures are such cool birds. One of my favorite things is that their Latin name, Cathartes aura, means either "golden purifier" or "purifying breeze" depending on how you translate it. Deeply underapriciated birds.

Back in 2012, my then Tea Party (now MAGA) family member told me that me that Obama had 'given Alaska to Russia'. It was all BS of course but isn't it ironic that if any POTUS would even consider such a thing it would 100% be their hero Trump. www.motherjones.com/politics/201...

Until we pass a nationwide ban on gerrymandering (which we need), Democrats should gerrymander every state to the fullest extent. 52-0 in CA, 17-0 in IL, and so on. No more unilateral disarmament. Time to get serious about fighting back.

I don't understand how that would 'feel like a trap'? We're already in the early stages of a civil war and the likelihood of averting it before it expands is slimmer with every passing day. The full statement should read "Trump can't win without cheating". That would be more accurate. Now, the real question is how do we respond to the cheating? Do we continue to 'play the game' with two different sets of rules? Or, do we fight fire with fire?
