Thanks, but: I have seen people from my list getting put on block lists, even though they don't bother anyone, intend to sell anything to anyone or do any other thing, that I could see, which would make them deserving of being on such lists. So I do keep blocking on an individual basis myself.
You have to trust people whose lists you use. Some trolls set up lists to silence legit accounts. I check each account on my list. Just now someone challenged one of my blocks & I reverified their trollitude to be sure. It's your choice though. Maybe verify then trust. Either way, block the trolls!🙂

When I hide them for everyone, they are basically shadowban (in a sense), so their shit can't been seen without specifically clicking on it and when I immediately block them, they won't know because they can no longer access my postings.

I understand the motivation. I would qualify with it's sometimes very hard to tell on the internet who is genuinely smart and who is completely fake. At least at first. I also like interacting with people who aren't the same as me. Maybe we can learn from each other.
I've met interesting folks online, some have become good friends. There's something delightful about epistolary relationships. This goes back to writing letters to classmates over summer breaks. Maybe that's why TikTok has never appealed. Video seems more hassle than composing something thoughtful.
I was for first month or so. Then I got blase and suddenly lost control. 😊 But they seem nice. And because feed features stuff from people who your mutuals and follows engage with, makes it interesting. At first I had way too much anime. The Show Less Like This option got a workout.

Look them over, no profile, just photos. block em. Do a search for what interests you. Art, photo, cats, dogs, the ocean, etc, politics? You will find them. Discussions, moments in time, people to talk to, etc. Check your follows list daily, and weed out the bots. It will happen. :-)
It's not just trolls, though. There are plenty of nutty residents who want this place to be the left wing echo chamber counterpart to Xitter rather than something more like the original Twitter

Listifications notifies you when someone blocks you AND provides a link, so you can look at the profile and counterblock if you want.
Thank you for the tip. I should clarify my last post: If I write something (ex: critical of Trump) and I get an opposing response, I check their profile to see if other posts (pro-Trump or otherwise) are thoughtful/insightful. If it's just a bunch of "MAGA 2025" and "God Bless Trump"... block

They can't. The profile is blank if you block someone.. but you can see the name and have the option to block back.

Some kind of glitch, I think. Dunno. But when you block someone they STAY on your follower list. Check it out. They can't reply for sure. And I don't know what they can see, but a block doesn't REMOVE a follower.
