I just watched the doc Murder in the Front Row about the rise of thrash in the Bay Area. Kirk is interviewed and said when he first saw Metallica play he thought to himself that they were a good band, but would be a much better band with him in it. Haha.

It’s a good documentary. Just 90 minutes or so. Also didn’t realize they were only really in San Francisco 6-8 months. Moved there because they asked Cliff to join the band and he told them he refused to move to Los Angeles, so if they wanted him, they had to move to San Francisco.
