And he would lose just like Harris, because he is anti-trans, anti-unhoused, and platforms Nazis. He is not my ally.

A racist fascist. Next question?

So you‘d rather vote for a third party no name than for a proper opponent to Trump?

I'd love to vote for a proper opponent to Trump. Let us know when you come up with one, because this ain't it.

Mamdani might be a good start. Voting, for either party, will not get us out of this. We have never had free and fair elections in this country; the American democratic experiment is over.

Well I suppose you didn’t vote for Harris last election, don’t you think that would have been smarter ?

I voted for Harris. I also voted for Biden, who won and still did nothing to prevent our current mess or make my life better in any tangible, lasting way. Electoral politics will not save us.

And what kind of politics would you prefer ?

I would prefer that people participate directly in forming and sustaining egalitarian community structures that enable us to provide for one another, as opposed to expending that energy rallying around charismatic individuals vying for power within an authoritarian hierarchy.

So the US should be governed on a lower level, for example on a state or maybe even district level ?

Ah yes, the Left's addiction to purity politics, a result of their deep desire to LOSE. Ever hear of "realpolitik"? Of course not, because Dems and Democratic supporters can't make tough decisions to WIN elections, preferring to think that their shit don't stink and that's all that matters.

"Purity politics" to YOU is your willingness to throw my survival under the bus as a canary. I AM NOT YOUR CANARY! I will not willing die so YOU can feel comfortable in fascism-lite.

100% right. The Purity Police don't seem to realize that trans rights will never be secured when Republicans win, and will likely be secured under Democratic administrations. And also...when we lose our democracy to fascism, no one will be debating trans rights anymore.

Excuse me, but Democrats in several states have voted FOR anti-trans bathroom bills. We are NOT being protected by the Dems.

And we have already lost our democracy to fascism. You're just late to the realization.

You might have this backwards. The left is actually quite used to coting for whoever wins the primary. It's "finding common ground" with the republicans that leads to electoral defeat again and again. Also, I think in this context "realpolitik" means the opposite of what you are suggesting

Hard choices? Try putting your body on the line to do more than just "vote harder" and back your talk up with some action.

So Elian, if a candidate supported segregation, would you accuse African Americans of applying a “purity test” if they said they wouldn’t vote for that?
