Yes! I've been going back to watching lots of Anime of the '80s -'90s for this very reason. I love hand-drawn animation.

There's this new show that started a couple weeks ago called Clevatess that had an awesome, vintage anime texture to the art.

i'm a big fan of moe designs, but the 90s anime style is super gorgeous. i love Cowboy Bebop and Ghost in the Shell (both SaC and the original) so much.

just rewatched the original and christ, the machinery in motion is so beautiful

It's about Real Science Robot engineers trying to save humanity from monsters. Also, a suicide virus + climate catastrophe end up being the bigger threat. A spiritual sequel to the more kid-friendly Super Science Robot series GaoGaiGar. Also req, it's fun and smarter than it has any right to be.

Also has one of the most fucked up deaths I've ever seen for a named character. It's not graphic or anything, it's just the *idea* behind it that's fucked up. Like, "wow, they really thought through about how this virus works."

the 3D animation ones? a shocking number of those are dogshit and then there's Ave Mujica, which feels like band girl anime Andor in terms of "how the fuck did this get made"
