I'm begging agnostics, atheists, social democrats and other non-normies (neutral) to realize...we alone do not nearly constitute a majority. We're gonna need religious people and centrists who aren't pieces of shit as part of the coalition.

That's literally never been a problem with non-believers, you don't have to go minstrel show for the small number of progressives that have real religious belief.
As an atheist, I don't have a problem with religious folk in the coalition. My problem is religious folk having a problem with me, an atheist, being in the coalition.
That's completely fair. It's gotta go both ways. I'm a left-leaning Christian in the Bible Belt. If I turned away (or badgered) every potential ally who didn't share my beliefs, I wouldn't have very many standing with me.
There's no shortage of atheists who simply carry on with their lives and aren't trying to make themselves an impediment to everyone else's progress. This sounds like a you problem.
I guess I'm missing where anything I said could be construed as impeding everyone's progress.
I like seeing someone beat fascists over the head with Bible verses. If we can get someone to do it with all of John Brown's zeal, well, that'd be something.
The issue is American religious people and American centrists are almost universally pieces of shit
