I believe you. They just aren't willing to learn/understand it. So harmful. And the whole family will suffer for it. As a parent, I can't imagine risking my child's well-being like that.

And you're a good person for that. The problem is, these parents are highly propagandized. They have been spoon fed info that says transition and being trans is dangerous and unhealthy for any human, and leads to death, ostracizing, depression, etc. We need to get better information out there.
I have only seen positive results when the family is accepting and supportive. The results you are listing are what happens when they are not. I hope they see that before it's too late. Sadly, I don't have much hope in my state where there is such propaganda being promoted at high levels.
It's "parental rights" as long as it aligns with them.
It's funny how they're so quick to take those "rights" away from everyone else, isn't it?
Yes. Have a lovely day, I am off to get candy for my kids' Easter baskets. And by kids, I mean my 20-something kids and my son-in-law. And yes, we still hide them too. Being a parent is a joy and this is one part of the fun.
That's wonderful! Have so much fun! For the record, I still make Easter baskets for my loved ones (all adults) as well. 🥰
Right? My husband is quite pleased when he stumps them.
Yep! You're exactly right. Being trans doesn't lead to all those issues. Being refused the freedom to be yourself causes all those issues.
