Well Germany dies if it can't sell its BMWs and Audis overseas, and that's what the orange crybaby in the WH was threatening to prevent.

So do I, and Germany can't pretend to represent the EU on its own, but unfortunately this is where 35 years of political compromises and power games within the EU have led us.

Even taking the EU’s balance of internal power into account, submissively bowing to US demands like this is embarrassing. I wouldn’t be surprised if the UK did it because, since Brexit, we’re an irrelevance on the world stage these days. But the EU bloc is meant to be able to stand up for itself.

Unfortunately the way the members of the EU commission are designated, the way the lobbies and vested interests are everywhere in Brussels, have ensured that the best interests of EU corporations and banks, even in the short term, will always prevail over the general interest.
