There is a still small but growing movement of academics, scientists, researchers and others whose lifework involves pursuing discovery and invention to leaving the United States for other places in the world where their work can be pursued without oppressive strictures from government.
It's proper for gov't to set such things as safety stds & monitor the honesty & ethics of such work. But when the work & the individuals doing that work must be obedient to ideological restrictions, we have what the US is becoming--a rigid, dogmatic environment where the highest value is obedience.
