Used to be great grandparents. Then was GGparents only if they didn’t get US citizenship before their oldest child was 21. Now I think it’s grandparents. My kid has been looking into it. Too many people were getting dual citizenship, but not moving to Italy. There’s still a path if studying Italian.
Thanks for the update. It was about a year or so ago when we looked into all opportunities for dual citizenship: England, Germany, Italy, & Ireland. Every country's eligibility requirements are slightly different & quite complex.
Hold on…. Hmmm looks like it only matters what the law was at YOUR time of birth. There might be hope for us, yet!
