I know his entire football career has been managed to death by his family, but I've been saying this for years now - maybe lighting up private schools and 2-3A equivalent competition in high school isn't a good indicator of success against future NFL defensive players

There's always a bit of worry about the ceiling of a guy who had access to all the training money could buy from birth. Some of Mack's higher profile recruiting misses toward the end fit that mold.
And you get in a Catch-22 situation as a coach in recruiting some of these types of players too.
