Experts are warning that more than 500,000 Ohioans are poised to lose insurance subsidies starting next year. In many cases, the increased costs they’ll face will be so big that more than 100,000 will lose their coverage, they warn. ohiocapitaljournal.com/2025/08/18/h...

Ohioans voted for this when they overwhelmingly chose Trump over Harris in 2024, and picking Republican Bernie Moreno for their Senator. Their Governor is a Republican, and both chambers of their state legislature are controlled by the GOP. Ohioans have voted not to have affordable health care.

Sorry, Ohio. But you fucking asked for it, and you so fucking got it. Also, inflicting JD Vance on the country means you're really getting exactly what you've got coming to you. Best of luck in the coming dystopia.

I work at a mental health agency and just listened to the Exec Dir of the Ohio Council (advocacy group) talk about all the changes at the state and federal level. Plus cuts to funding means less treatment and an EO also basically criminalizes mental illness. Not a good start to the week.

But they can send National Guard to DC? They sent their senator to VP residence. Seems all they do is export citizens to DC and get noHealthcare? Release the EPSTEIN files.

I’m confused. Weren’t ACA subsidies available before the pandemic? Would expiration of these pandemic subsidies affect everyone currently receiving subsidies?

These premium credits end in this years cycle. This is probably the biggest change affecting people with an ACA plan. I know. They did help me.

The average individual can't afford an $800 a month health insurance premium on top of a $7000 deductible. For a couple that's $1600+ and a $14,000 deductible. This is catastrophic for small businesses and the self-employed.
