One of the dumbest features of American politics is that, in order to be a participant in good standing, you must subscribe to the fantasy that there is a set of words that you can utter to someone who thinks the moon is made of cheese that'll have them say "You're right, it's not."
"You see, a collection of obese middle aged men who have never trained together, have no command structure and whose firearms use ammunition incompatible with each others, can defeat the US Army because we are the exact same thing as the Viet Cong or the Afghan Mujahedeen."
I’ve also always just assumed that if shit really got that bad that armed resistance was the best option, guns and weapons would *flood* into this country. The stockpiling would be irrelevant. Only training and tactics make any sense to me.
In other words, agreed on your latter point about training being the only thing that I could see even beginning to be “worthwhile.”
(Though of course none of this has anything to do with “fighting tyranny”)
