The Israeli government is targeting Hamas terrorists. Those Hamas terrorists are banking on the humanity of the IDF to spare their families as they use their own children as human shields. The Israeli government has decided that preventing other Oct 7th attacks is worth it. Is it horrific? Yes.
I get the complexities, and I get why the government decided , in your words, "Its worth it", my point is even if you believe its worth it, you are still sactioning the slaughter of children, and that makes you akin to the OCT 7th killers, killing children for plitical reasons.
You, or any citizen supporting it are more distanced, you have cleaner fingernails, but you are still sanctioning the killing of kids for politics, just like HAMAS, not the ground grunt/terrorist, but those who fund them, those who vote them into power. You become what you despise down that road.
If I was just like Hamas, we wouldn't be having this conversation. Hamas doesn't GAF about conversations. They've made it clear. For too long Israeli policy was to arrest Hamas terrorists. That is no longer feasible. They made their choice. Hamas has to be eliminated completely.
The problem is, no infant is HAMAS, but they get bombed too. You may rationalize that away because you are invested somehow, you have family or friends directly affected, so it is personal. That makes you not rational about it by default. Your decision making is wieghted by emotions.
