That’s beautiful!
That’s beautiful!
Absolutely gorgeous!
🤩 Indeed it is!
I want to see it one day!
I hope you get there🤞 One of Canada’s precious gems.
Been there! It's fantastic!
A popular, must-see destination for sure!
My wife’s mother completed a needlepoint of this scene about 50 years ago. It’s framed and hangs on our living room wall. A beautiful memory of a lovely lady for us.
Such a meaningful treasure for you🥹 Any chance you could share a picture of it?
Thank you so much for this.❤️ It’s a real treasure for sure. A lot of TLC went into that piece.
They need to put daily limits on there, Lake Louise and Banff as they are being over run I can see the same thing happening as in Europe with anti tourist demonstrations…too many tourist with no respect for their surroundings
They’re only accessible by shuttle buses which you need to reserve in order to get a spot, and there is a fee. This somewhat regulates the flow of people. We biked in, which is permitted but is not for the faint hearted, even with an e-bike! I found it clean and well maintained.
Stunning 😍
Breathtaking! 🩵 🏔️
We were there for Sunrise on the 13th August. Absolutely mind blowing.
Wow🤩 That’s beyond words!
Wow! 😮
Took our honeymoon at Lake Louise Moraine is stunning as are Maligne and Bow But my personal fave is Peyto
Sounds like you spent a bit of time there. There’s certainly a lot to see. There’s nothing else like those glacial lakes. 🧊🥶
Strong and Free
🫡🇨🇦
Stunning.
Don’t tell people - its already full
It was busy for sure; a steady flow of people.
You're making me want to trade in my keyboard for a bike and hit the trails to Moraine Lake! Did you guys take a dip in those icy waters, or was it more of a "look but don't touch" situation?
😁 More of a look but don’t touch situation though we did get up to our knees.🥶 A couple of folks took a dip, but it was in and out with hilarious sound effects! As for biking - by all means do it, but it’s along a roadway to get there, no actual bike trail. Bonne chance!
Beautiful.
Striking! The most gorgeous places on Earth are mostly uninhabited. Why? Humans it seems have a knack to turn every natural beauty into an ugly place. I never like skyscrapers, buildings, or other man made objects. Everything beautiful is untouched by humans.
Natural beauty, created by Mother Nature, speaks in a language every soul can understand.✌️
Agreed. People have different names for who created all this. We call Him Allah, the most Exaltedand Beloved to what you refer to as Mother Nature 😇.
✌️I love that so many traditions and beliefs all look to the source as inherently good.
We just love Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. TY for posting.
My pleasure to share☺️
👏🏾😍👏🏾🤩
Thanks! Sometimes only emoticons can express how an image makes us feel. 🤩 Words fail. 🙌✌️🙌
I’ve been there and would go back again and again!
It’s good for the soul.
Beautiful! Love the mist on the mountains.
Beautiful ❤️
Breathtaking!
Stunning! Thanks so much for sharing, Laura🇨🇦
My pleasure, Bernadette!🤗✌️
And is much, much less crowded than Lake Louise. My wife still wears her lake Moraine sweatshirt. Stunning place.
Wow
Gorgeous✌🏼
It really is spectacular🤩✌️
Hello Colleen
OMG that is stunning 🤩 Thanks for sharing🤗
Is it cold year round?
The water is extremely cold year round, well it’s ice in winter so that’s cold!
Blue heaven
Did they get rid of that stupid condo/hotel they had built in the 90s? It was sickening to see construction there.
There were some buildings along the first part of the trail beside the lake that looked like rentals. They were amongst the trees so not really obtrusive.🤷🏼♀️
Must have grown in over time. It was super obvious before - clearcut - and man, was I mad.
I can imagine it must have been like an assault on the pristine environment. I hope that’s all they add because it’s busy enough. We need to protect these places from too much human interference.
Really beautiful!
💙
I spent a night at the Moraine Lake lodge and still remember its beauty.
Lucky you! Colour me green!
Was there a couple of times in the 90s. No shuttle, no lodge (as far as I remember), no people (or rarely). You can sit there for hours and just learn how small you are and how amazing nature is.
That sounds so peaceful. Must be a treasured memory.
This is a beautiful shot, gorgeous view. Thank you for sharing it.
Thank you. My pleasure to share😊
Glorious!
Stunning
That is sooooooooo beautiful!
A sight to behold, for sure✌️
Visited June 2023 - it was snowing!
😮❄️! Quite the opposite when we were there in August 2024. They were having unusually hot weather.
It was still stunningly beautiful!
I’m sure it was beautiful ❄️ It’s closed for access in the winter so your experience would be as close as it gets to the winter feel!
Stunning 😍
Alberta could have been one of the most beautiful places on Earth, but the oil industry and Alberta's government have made most of it Hell. It's nice to see what the fascists haven't destroyed yet.
Unfortunately AB’s Smith and now PP are a blight on the province. It’s still a beautiful place though ✨✌️🇨🇦✨
For now. The longer the cons stay in power, the more irreparable damage they will do to the environment, and the people of Alberta. Everyone who loves nature must hate the right wing.
Which is why I lean to the left and try to stay informed. I think most Albertans want to protect our country and remain in Canada. But it must be hard when all they hear is divisive blather and woe-is-me from Smith and PP. I was disappointed Bonnie Critchley didn’t receive more votes🤷🏼♀️
I want to believe that Albertans want the common good. However, the overwhelming historical support for white supremacism/conservatism is evidence which exposes most Albertan voters as mask off fascists. Alberta separatism holds no weight. There is virtually nothing of Alberta which can separate
Reality sucks. Can I just live in my Pollyanna bubble for a bit longer? I’ll worry again tomorrow.✌️
The larches there in October are nothing short of breathtaking.
I know! We call them tamaracks here. There are large groves of them in Algonquin Park ON which is closer to home for us! A fall trip to Algonquin never disappoints 🍁🍂
Hello Laura how are you doing?
The water is so beautiful there.
Turquoise and clear to the bottom. Doesn’t get more beautiful!
Beautiful
Canada is very beautiful. 🇨🇦
You’re preaching to the converted on that point! ❤️🇨🇦
One of my favourite places on earth.
I certainly count myself fortunate to have experienced Moraine Lake.✌️
Rocky Mountain high!
Absolutely!🎵 It was my first time in the Rockies and every day I was jaw-droppingly amazed. Pictures don’t do it justice, although I still took about a thousand pics!

🤗 Thanks for this. I used to have John Denver LPs (yep, and eight tracks too😆)
That’s really beautiful. I’d like to visit there.
I hope you get the chance🤞✌️
Beautiful
Spectacular
What happened to old fashioned walking?
Hiking is an option, but not recommended by Parks Canada due to the distance and lack of pathway along the road. It’s a hilly 14 km hike each way on open roadway. Oh and bears! We passed one on the side of the road while biking.
I’ve stood in that very spot. Absolutely breathtaking
Nothing else like it on earth✨
Thank you! Blissful.
Happy to spread a little bliss☺️✌️
Stunning!
Wow!
Gorgeous 💙
What a beauty!
Indeed! The clear, turquoise water was uniquely stunning.
Hello Nellgunn👋🏼
Pretty sad that you basically have to pay to see it.
You say icy water. Can people go swimming in the lake?
There were a couple of brave (crazy😉) souls having a quick dip, but swimming is generally discouraged because of the frigid temperature. Canoe rentals are a big thing on the lake.
Beautiful
Yes! Sensory overload. Beautiful.
Yes! The sight of such grandeur, scent of the forest, feel of the icy water, sound of the wind in the trees… it’s an immersive experience.
Wow 🤩
Honeymooned in AB and BC Rockies the Mrs and myself hiking on trail around Moraine even though was still probably 40% frozen over still in June! Pictured us canoeing on Louise but it was 50% frozen with ice built up on canoes🥶 We stuck to hiking & shopping instead Still stunning & great views
Great memories, no doubt. But who would have thought there’d be that much ice and snow in June🤷🏼♀️ It is the Rockies, I guess😂
Yep and it snowed on us on our hike and horseback ride Great memories though
What a gorgeous view. Canada is on my list of next holiday destinations.
That’s wonderful! We’ve travelled across the country with our camper and I can tell you there is something for everyone to enjoy! ✌️🇨🇦✌️
Is it actually a moraine? It certainly looks glacial there.
Yes, it’s more of a moraine-damned lake. The rock pile at its end where I took the photo is the glacial debris called a moraine.🤓
Cool!
How's the fishing?
I have no idea🐟🐋🦈🦭🐬😂
