Had a risk assessment class in college. We learned about micro morts (1 micromort = 1 death in a pop of 1MM). Being in a polluted city, such as Boston, for three days is one micromort. Living with an indoor smoker for three months is also one micromort.

Million. "M" is the Roman numeral for 1000. "MM" is pretty standard for expressing 1 million.
