That's a fair take. The people who faced the most risk were renamed "essential workers." The minute vaccines were available, we went back to treating them like shit and not valuing the essential work they do. Also, bosses sending workers to do a dangerous task they won't do creates moral injury.

This definitely happened, but it wasn't got the culture warriors going, as they're also fine with treating the highest risk workers like shit. The resentment was entirely about what they themselves were prevented from doing: the appeal to liberal hypocrisy was always a post hoc justification
