i personally didn’t know that you had to be a metre away from the wall at a free kick. it feels like a bad rule? #thefootball

Apparently shoving a player out of the way is perfectly legal If you did that in open play it would be a free kick and possibly a card Before a free kick or a corner you need to pull a gun and shoot the opposing player before it’s a foul
you should be allowed to push, kick, punch and also possibly throttle chelsea players without incurring a booking. i have been consistent on this issue for decades.
It’s an odd one because it’s usually used before the kick to get the players apart - I’ve never seen it awarded when the kick is taken. Similarly I think we won’t see many 8 second corners given because keepers won’t hang on to the ball - now that the refs feel it’s ok to punish it
Feels like a first day of the season decision. A rule never to be seen again
wonder how many corners for the goalie holding on to the ball for more than eight seconds we’re going to see.
Saw one yesterday, Man City Spurs. That’s a great rule.
Sorry, Burnley Spurs.
Yeah, odd one. And gonna be difficult to police (referee). The conceding a corner for the keeper holding on to the ball for 8 seconds feels like it's going to be challenging as well. Although, explains why Villa didn't start with Martinez
Well that, and the fact Martinez was suspended 😉😂
It’s when at least three players from the attacking side form a wall. So he was deemed to be part of that wall.
this hasn’t help i’m afraid
Apologies. Maybe switch over to the cricket?
[squints] it’s not the hundred, is it?
Apologies, it is.
[cat-like hiss]

It's to stop defenders & attackers wrestling over the same space. Messy.
