I live in Sonoma and wine is a huge industry here. At the end of the day, the people who hurt the most from shit like this are all the agricultural workers who work these vineyards. A lot of stressed families. The food bank lines here in Santa Rosa every week are always long.

The state should be subsidizing their existence until such time comes as they successfully seize the vineyards from their ghoulish owners

Should being the operative word. Should doesn’t put food on the table or pay your bills. I agree with you here it’s just rough to see people in your community struggle, particularly the impact this has on children.

I don't *like* it either, but literally the only thing on the entire planet the wealthy assholes will ever respond to is threats to their own wallet, and they've played themselves into a corner here. They won't *suffer*, but they may be forced to retreat from their seat of undue influence

The policies they've pursed and the labor they've exploited in the region for decades has already been imperiling families for generations, and this is the closest it's ever come to landing on their own doorsteps. I wouldn't call myself an accelerationist, per se, but *something* had gotta give

Totally. I get it, and you’re right. Growing up in Fresno living adjacent to migrant and ag laborer communities, it cuts close to home witnessing an already historically exploited population dropped further into the grinder.
