JD talks like the homeless just appeared from nowhere. Wrong. They’re vets, sons, daughters, neighbors the system dropped. They didn’t choose the gutter. Politicians like him put them there, now they want to bury them. That’s not fixing homelessness, that's turning you back on them.

There are only two solutions to homelessness. House people, or make it impossible for them to survive It’s clear which this administration has chosen

Exactly. No person *wants* to stand outside all day yelling at JD and his family. He and GOP see poor and mentally ill through their own lenses, completely incapable of stepping outside themselves to even begin to have empathy. This is not Christianity. Jesus weeps, again and again…

I was rereading about eugenics, and it’s history in the US. There were some really smart women who came up with opposition to that in the form of Euthenics, before they even had acquired the right to vote. We’d never heard of this woman w/o her teacher Important 🔗 en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euthenics

Would really help if the GOP would pay that $1 billion to DC for funding for judges, prosecutors, to our police officers and everything they owe them money for.

Also, in a lot of cases, definitely in my city and likely in Atlanta too, they're just... poor. They're not crazy, they're not druggies, they're not destroyed by PTSD. They're just people who can't afford first, last, and security deposit on a $2500 2 bedroom apartment.

Not to mention... I would probably become a crack head if I had to live in a tent in 100 degree heat, lost my job due to lack of reliable transportation or appropriate clothes or whatever, and kept running into issues like the cops busting up my encampment and throwing away my ID.

Maybe not a crack head, but those extremely harsh conditions can lead to severe mental illness that could have been managed with some medication and a decent place to sleep and eat. I’ve seen it happen over time.

Republican policies dating back to Reagan helped create and fuel the homelessness crisis. Unfettered capitalism, deregulation, and diminished mental health resources all contributed to where we are now. Those are largely due to republican dogsh*t policies/inaction.

Agree, instead of helping and finding solutions to their plight they want to disappear them. These are fellow human beings not the trash the trump regime seem to think of them as. Taxing the people who have so much money they’ll never be able to spend is one solution 😡

Such people are the proof of Republican “solutions” breaking people and society. Of course they want to vilify and sweep them away like trash. Every broken person is evidence of a sick society and the failure of “conservative” abuse of people as policy.

We can thank their republican “hero” Reagan for much of the homelessness among the pop. with mental illness. Institutions were closed b/c “the community” was going to just magically create housing, case management, etc. It didn’t happen. FYI, it’s deeply offensive to label people “crazy”. 😡
