How are we 'trapped' or 'imprisoned' here? Anyone can leave whenever they like, we have freedom of movement with Ireland. Which is in the EU.

Years after brexit and you people still don't get it, eh?
Get what? Where have I said anything that is wrong?
The fact that you can go to Ireland when you want and how long you want doesn't mean that you can do the same in the rest of the EU. 90/180 applies to UK citizens travelling to EU (outside Ireland). And no, you can't work in the EU during that time unless you have work permit.
Yes I know. Where did I say otherwise? As for work, I still attend meetings and oversee some work done by our local offices across the EU, so it's not black and white. That is still permitted (and perhaps more common post-covid, where less on the ground presence is needed)
It's tiring. Read your own messages.
Sure. This was the post I made. It is correct. You seem to be arguing a different point, for some reason.
Sorry. I didn't mean to be argumentative. Texts came across in a way I was not intended.
No need to apologise for anything, the curse of social media!
Err ok. Just stating a fact, that you appear to have been unaware of? 🤷🏻♂️
That's covered by the Common Travel Area. It won't work for you as a UK national in any other EU country.
I know. I didn't say otherwise.
You have FoM in one country out of 27. Before you had FoM in 27 out of 27. Still, I am sure if your pay was cut so you only got 1/27th that would be fine with you.
Sure. Do you agree with the OP's assertion that we are now imprisoned in the UK? Because we are not, as I pointed out.
What's this "we"? I am a dual UK/Irish national. I retain my freedom of movement. You however don't. Enjoy your blue passport.
'We' as in the people the OP was addressing. I hope that is clear enough for you?
