To be fair, no place is safe from fascism. Moving countries would prolong the inevitable only by so much. At least you're choosing to stay close to your friends and family.

Oh, that one. I assumed you were talking about the current administration policies, sorry. That aspect is indeed very US specific. My heart goes out to every parent that has to raise their child in such an environment.
