The first chicken eating at the tray looks cool. I like the feathers on the hen’s head. Do you know what type of chicken that is in the beginning of the video? My first thought was a Silkie. But, then the bird was too long legged for a silkie. The young chicken jumping up to the camera was cute. 😊🐥

That first one is actually a polish chicken and he’s a rooster. Thankfully only one of the nine I bought in the spring turned out to be male. He’s not too loud either and his crow sounds like someone stepping in a rubber chicken it’s cute.

Well he’s a cute Polish rooster. 😊 Thank you for filing me in & sharing the video. As long as your neighbors don’t mind him doing his little rubber chicken crow, he should be a very happy rooster with all those hens.🐓

They look so happy and cute I bet they're messy eaters though 🙃

Yeah but it’s good for them to eat their food off the ground because they need grit in order to digest anything and they get that from the dirt so I always put some food on the table but I also scatter it around on the ground

oh I didn't know that dirt is helpful like hmmm maybe I should have dirt then again it wouldn't taste nice in food 🙃 but wow you thought of everything

Not for humans lol just chickens as far as I know. Their digestive systems are different than ours. Their bodies use grit and a cramping like motion to “chew” the food in their bellies.

ah I see fair enough the closest we have would be well actually I'm not sure unless you count rice than again it's not grit like dirt oh well close enough 😅
