But fundamentally, if the choice between him and Trump are you really going to say they're as bad as each other? Because they're clearly not

1. You shouldn't be promising your support to a shitty candidate already. That's how you get shitty candidates. 2. "Not as bad" is just the completely wrong way to think about this. Fighting MAGA requires fighting the ideology and softer versions of the ideology aren't fighting fascism.
From here in the UK I see no one but Newsome actually challenging Trump If not him, where is the Dem leader standing up now (2027 primaries are far too late) and making the case for the Dems, as opposed to lots of individuals fighting their corners
There's a lot of unions standing up to Trump and actually putting wrenches into his plans, especially federal workers unions. There's a bunch of states suing the admin together. Then there's community protests and the ACLU. And Illinois refused to honor the warrants for Texas reps who fled there.
I don't know what point you're making exactly. Are you telling us that from the UK you are advocating that we all fall in line behind a disgusting man because he's opposing Trump in a way you notice?
So you know little to nothing about the subject and are still running defense for the fash lite fuckbag. Interesting, kinda gives away the game imo
i didn’t say that anywhere! he’s clearly not! we just do not have to go down the path of making that choice.
Maybe not, but he's the only person I can see from over here in the UK who is properly challenging Trump and standing up as a Dem leader I know your parties don't work like ours, but the Dems need a visible vocal head to get behind, sooner rather than later - primaries in 2027 will be far too late
You're in the UK and your media has its own slant. there are, actually, a fair number of people fighting him, but perhaps not with Newsom's obnoxiousness. JB Pritzker, governor of Illinois, is doing great work. As is Tim Walz. Plus millions of people on the ground who hold no office.
They're not cutting through on a national scale though...yes Pritzker is good, particularly with the Texas congressmen but it's still not a uniform front to take on MAGA I know your parties aren't like ours but a few disparate voices isn't a movement
Why are you trying to torn that’s the choice right now? No other reason to even mention it.
